What kind of car is the Aston Martin Valhalla?
Valhalla is Aston Martin’s first series-production mid-engined supercar and its first plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV), according to the manufacturer. Production is limited to 999 cars. Its hybrid system is designed for both electric-only driving and performance driving, with a V8 powering the rear axle and electric motors driving the front.
The figures below are manufacturer-published specifications. The technical announcement was issued in 2024; battery details and the status of fuel-consumption and emissions figures reflect Aston Martin’s model page accessed in 2026.

How does the Valhalla hybrid powertrain work?
The system is organized by axle rather than using the V8 to drive all four wheels. The V8 sends power through the DCT to the rear axle. Two electric motors independently drive the front wheels, giving the car electric front-axle drive and allowing torque to be varied from side to side. That arrangement creates all-wheel drive without a physical connection between the front and rear axles.

What each motor does
- Two front motors: Drive the front wheels, enable EV mode and reverse, and provide torque vectoring by varying front-wheel drive.
- Transmission-integrated motor: Assists with starting the engine, charging the battery, synchronizing gears and providing torque fill.
Torque fill is electric assistance that helps meet the driver’s torque demand while the turbochargers build boost. Aston Martin also describes E-Boost and Load Shifting functions. The published combined output is the system rating; it should not be read as a claim that all three motors always deliver their peak output simultaneously.
Drive modes
Aston Martin lists four modes: Pure EV, Sport, Sport+ and Race. The company says the modes change powertrain, chassis, steering and aerodynamic calibrations. The exact behavior and conditions for each setting should be confirmed in the vehicle’s current documentation.

What are the Valhalla’s performance and aero figures?
Aston Martin quotes 0–100 km/h in 2.5 seconds and a 350 km/h electronically limited top speed. These are manufacturer figures; they are not independent instrumented test results. The car’s active aerodynamic system includes front and rear aero elements, DRS and air-brake functions.
The headline downforce figure is more than 600 kg, but it is tied to operating conditions rather than being a constant value at every speed. Aston Martin’s 2024 technical announcement says the figure applies from 240 km/h to top speed. Its model page describes more than 600 kg from 150 mph to maximum speed in Race mode. These descriptions use different thresholds and contexts, so the number should be quoted with its relevant qualification.

How far can the Valhalla drive on electric power?
Aston Martin announced 14 km of pure-electric range and an EV-mode limit of 140 km/h in its 2024 technical announcement. The 14 km figure is short relative to a typical daily commute, so EV mode is best understood as a defined operating capability, not evidence that Valhalla is a long-range electric car. The manufacturer’s model page, accessed in 2026, still says official fuel-consumption and CO2 figures will be released after testing is complete; no verified official figures for those measures are stated there.
How many Valhallas will be made, and when are deliveries?
Aston Martin has set a 999-car production limit. In its February 2025 FY 2024 results presentation, the company forecast production starting in Q2 2025, first deliveries in H2 2025 and deliveries across the run over approximately 2.5 years. Those dates are historical forecasts, not confirmation of current availability, remaining allocations or an individual order’s delivery date.
