s1mple is at risk of missing the PGL Major Singapore, but BC.Game has not been confirmed as definitively disqualified. Valve’s rule restricts a roster’s regional assignment if it appeared on another region’s Valve Regional Standings (VRS) list during the previous three calendar months. HLTV reports that Valve said teams making late region switches are out of the Major run unless they contact Valve and find a solution. BC.Game’s eligibility remains unresolved in the sources available as of October 7, 2026.
What Valve’s VRS rule says
Valve’s Major Supplemental Rulebook states: “A roster is only eligible for a Regional Assignment if they did not appear in any other region’s VRS list in the preceding three calendar months.” The rule concerns which regional VRS list a roster can use for Major invitations; it does not name BC.Game or s1mple.
The rulebook describes invitations based on rosters’ positions on the EU, Americas and Asia VRS lists. A roster’s regional assignment follows the majority of its players. If representation is tied, the assignment goes to the region with greater representation in the Major. Valve’s Major Supplemental Rulebook also says invitations are offered by stage, starting with Stage 3, then Stage 2, then Stage 1. If an invited roster declines or is no longer intact, the next-highest-ranked roster receives the invitation.
Why BC.Game’s eligibility is in question
HLTV reported on October 6 that Valve confirmed the rule change applies to Singapore Major invitations and concerns organizations that shifted from Europe to Asia. HLTV says Valve’s position is that teams making late region switches are disqualified from the Major run unless “they reach out and find a solution.” That is HLTV’s account of Valve’s clarification, not a published final ruling specifically naming BC.Game.

That distinction matters: a roster’s predicted ranking and its eligibility are separate questions. BC.Game may rank highly in Asia, but it still needs a valid regional assignment under the rule—or a solution with Valve—to receive an invitation.
BC.Game’s current prediction is not an invitation
HLTV’s beta prediction currently places BC.Game first in Asia for a projected Stage 2 invitation and lists s1mple on the roster. The projection looks back six months from the cutoff and includes unfinished events expected to end before then. It is not the final invite list, and it does not settle whether BC.Game meets Valve’s regional-assignment rule.

The PGL Major Singapore event hub lists 32 teams and five Asia-Pacific invitations. Under the hub’s format, the highest-ranked eligible team in that region starts in Stage 2, while the other four begin in Stage 1. Those places go to eligible rosters; a prediction alone does not secure one.
Key dates before the final decision
- November 2, 2026: the VRS cutoff listed by HLTV’s event hub.
- November 24–December 13, 2026: the event dates listed by the hub.
Because the cutoff is still ahead as of October 7, rankings and the final invitation list may change. The beta projection is therefore a snapshot, not a final result.

What would confirm s1mple’s status
A definitive answer requires two things: whether Valve and BC.Game reached a solution on the regional-assignment issue, and whether BC.Game qualifies for an invitation under the final standings and roster rules. The reviewed sources do not confirm either outcome. Until Valve or the final invitation list establishes BC.Game’s status, the accurate description is that s1mple is at risk of missing the Major—not that he has been ruled out.
