Which headset should you buy?
Choose the Astro A50 X for frequent multi-platform switching
Logitech says the A50 X connects to Xbox Series X|S and PS5 over HDMI 2.1 and to PC or Mac over USB-C. Its headset button switches among Xbox, PS5, and PC. That makes its base station especially useful when you move regularly between those systems instead of treating each console as a separate setup. Logitech also lists Game/Chat mixing.
The trade-off is that console video passes through the base station. Before choosing it, check the HDMI connections and capabilities of your console-to-display chain, along with the cables you already have. Logitech advertises 4K 120 Hz passthrough, but that manufacturer specification does not establish that every display setup will support the full chain without checking compatibility. Logitech G’s A50 X product page describes the connections and advertised features.
Choose the Nova Pro Wireless for ANC and battery swapping
RTINGS identifies active noise cancellation as a Nova Pro Wireless feature. The headset also uses a swappable-battery system, making it a better match for someone who prioritizes those features over the A50 X’s console video routing. If Xbox is part of your setup, verify the exact model before buying: SteelSeries Support says all versions have two USB system connections, but only the Xbox version has a dedicated Xbox port. Its flexible second port supports PC, PlayStation 4/5, Switch, and Mac.

How do their platform connections differ?
The A50 X is built around its base station’s direct HDMI 2.1 console routing for Xbox Series X|S and PS5, with USB-C for PC or Mac. The Nova Pro Wireless uses USB system connections and varies by platform version. SteelSeries lists two direct USB system connections on every version, while the Xbox model adds a dedicated Xbox port; its second port is flexible across supported systems.
That distinction matters if you want Xbox and PlayStation compatibility in one setup. With the Nova Pro Wireless, do not assume that every version has the same Xbox connection: choose the Xbox variant if you need its dedicated port, and consider which systems you plan to connect to the second port. SteelSeries’ variant guide spells out the port differences.

Which one sounds better?
In a direct comparison updated with Test Bench 2.3 in June 2026, RTINGS judged the A50 X “ever so slightly better” overall as wireless gaming headphones, citing a more balanced sound and controlled mid-range. That is a test-based editorial finding, not a guarantee that every listener will prefer its sound. Treat it as a small point in the A50 X’s favor rather than a reason to ignore platform fit or preferred features. Read RTINGS’ direct comparison.

- Confirm your platforms: For A50 X console routing, account for Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and your display chain. For the Nova Pro Wireless, confirm the platform variant and the systems you will connect.
- Check the display path: If considering A50 X passthrough, verify that your console, base-station connections, display, and cables support the capabilities you want to use.
- Compare local price and return terms: Comparable current street prices are not established here, so check the price in your region and whether you can return the headset if its fit does not suit you.
- Judge comfort on your own fit: The available comparison does not establish a reliable comfort winner for every wearer.
