ASUS announced an all-new TUF Gaming logo on September 16, 2020, during the launch period for NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 30-series graphics cards. The redesigned mark first appeared on ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 3000-series graphics cards and was intended to support a broader TUF Gaming product family.
This was a brand-identity update—not a new GPU architecture, performance upgrade, warranty change, or hardware standard. ASUS’s announcement described the change as part of TUF Gaming’s expansion beyond its earlier, narrower hardware identity.

What changed in the TUF Gaming logo?
ASUS replaced the older emblem-style TUF Gaming mark with a simpler, more geometric design. The new identity uses cleaner lines and sharper angles, a visual direction ASUS said was intended to communicate dependability and stability.
The change was therefore broader than swapping an icon on a product box. ASUS presented the new mark as a family design language that could work across more types of gaming hardware. The official announcement shows the new design alongside the previous emblem, making the shift from a traditional badge-like appearance to a more streamlined geometric identity clear.

Why did ASUS redesign it?
ASUS said the redesign reflected TUF Gaming’s expanding mission and product range. The company positioned TUF Gaming around durability, stability, and value, while also aiming the brand at a wider audience that included newer PC users and experienced DIY builders.
Those are ASUS’s brand-positioning claims. The logo itself is not evidence that a particular product is more durable, reliable, or better performing. Such claims must be evaluated from the specifications, testing information, warranty, and reviews of the individual model.

Which products received the new logo first?
The first named products were ASUS TUF Gaming NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3000-series graphics cards. Their timing connected the redesigned identity to ASUS’s versions of NVIDIA’s new RTX 30-series GPUs, but the logo announcement was not itself the launch of the RTX 3000 GPU family.
ASUS also said the new TUF Gaming design language was expected to expand into additional categories beginning in early 2021:
- Motherboards
- Graphics cards
- Laptops
- Desktop PCs
- PC cases
- Keyboards
- Mice
- Headsets
- Monitors
- Power supplies
- Coolers
That was a planned rollout, not a guarantee that every category or market changed at the same time. ASUS’s announcement does not provide a complete market-by-market record of adoption, nor does it establish when older packaging would disappear from stores.

What the logo redesign did not change
The September 2020 announcement did not announce any technical change resulting from the new logo. It did not introduce:
- A new GPU architecture
- New performance specifications
- New durability-testing standards
- New warranty terms
- New compatibility requirements
A TUF Gaming product carrying the redesigned logo should still be assessed by its exact model number and product documentation. The logo identifies a brand presentation; it does not replace the model’s specification sheet.
How to identify the logo on real products
Older and newer TUF Gaming packaging can overlap because retailers may hold inventory from different production and distribution periods. Regional packaging can also differ. An older logo does not by itself mean that a product is counterfeit, obsolete, or technically inferior.

When checking a product, use this order of evidence:
- Find the exact model number. Check the box, product label, or manufacturer listing.
- Verify the hardware generation. Confirm the GPU, CPU, chipset, or other platform named in the specifications.
- Check the regional SKU. Model suffixes and included features can vary by market.
- Review warranty information. The logo does not establish warranty coverage or eligibility.
- Use the product page or manual. These are more reliable than the logo for compatibility, firmware, and software-support details.
Similarly, the redesigned mark should not be used alone to determine a product’s age, performance, authenticity, or current support status.

A 2020 TUF Gaming identity update, not a current ASUS rebrand
The wording of the headline can make this sound like a recent announcement, but ASUS revealed the logo on September 16, 2020. The change applied specifically to TUF Gaming; it was not an announcement of a redesign for the ASUS corporate logo or the ROG brand.

In context, the redesign was part of TUF Gaming’s expansion into a wider hardware family and was introduced alongside the 2020 RTX 3000 product cycle. Its significance was organizational and visual: ASUS wanted one more flexible identity for graphics cards, motherboards, laptops, desktops, peripherals, displays, power supplies, cooling products, and cases.
