There is no retail Asus ROG Phone 10 Pro. Reports indicate ASUS developed an ROG Phone 10 series, reportedly including a Pro model, but the project was shelved before launch. ASUS said it had no plans to introduce new smartphone models during 2026, while continuing maintenance, updates and warranty support for existing devices. The latest officially announced ROG Pro phone is the ROG Phone 9 Pro.
Was the ROG Phone 10 Pro officially released?
No. ASUS has not published a ROG Phone 10 Pro product page, launch announcement, retail specification sheet or confirmed release date. The name appears to refer to a genuine internal development project rather than a phone that reached stores.
Leaked engineering firmware reportedly identified both an ROG Phone 10 and ROG Phone 10 Pro. That establishes that ASUS was developing the series; it does not prove that either model completed certification, entered mass production or became available to buy. Android Authority reported the leaked firmware and prototype details at Android Authority.
Search databases can still show a product page, price or date for an unreleased device. Those entries are not equivalent to an ASUS announcement or an authorized retailer listing.

What happened to the ROG Phone 10 series?
- ASUS announced the ROG Phone 9 series on January 7, 2025, through its official press release.
- ASUS did not announce a new smartphone generation during 2025.
- In January 2026, ASUS said it had no plans to introduce new smartphone models during 2026. Reporting also said maintenance, software updates and warranty services for existing phones would continue. See Heise for that clarification.
- Later reports on leaked engineering firmware described the planned ROG Phone 10 series as shelved after ASUS changed its smartphone strategy. Ars Technica characterized the wider business position as an indefinite hiatus.
The defensible description is therefore “reportedly canceled or shelved.” ASUS’s 2026 statement does not by itself prove that the company can never make another phone, although it makes a near-term ROG Phone 10 Pro launch unlikely.
Leaked prototype specifications
The following details came from engineering firmware reports, not a final ASUS consumer specification sheet. They describe what was reportedly planned and should not be treated as guaranteed retail hardware.
| Item | Reported detail | Confidence and limitation |
|---|---|---|
| Internal codename | “Boston” | Reported leak detail; identified by Notebookcheck. |
| Model identifier | AI2601 reportedly associated with the ROG Phone 10 and 10 Pro | Prototype identifier, not proof of retail availability. |
| Processor platform | Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 | Reported prototype specification; ASUS never confirmed a final processor. |
| Rear cameras | Triple-camera system | Reported layout only; sensors and image processing were not confirmed. |
| Wireless networking | Wi-Fi 7 | Reported from prototype firmware; not an official consumer specification. |
Nothing reliable establishes the final RAM or storage options, display dimensions or refresh behavior, battery capacity, charging speed, camera sensors, IP rating, Android version at launch, carrier support, accessory compatibility or U.S. and international pricing. It is also unknown whether a Pro model would have retained AniMe Vision or introduced another rear display.

ROG Phone 10 Pro price and release date
There is no official price and no confirmed release date. A Smartprix page gives an expected December 12, 2026 date, but that is a third-party estimate, not an ASUS schedule, and conflicts with ASUS’s reported decision not to introduce new smartphone models in 2026. The listing is at Smartprix.

Likewise, a price-list entry cannot establish that a phone launched. Treat any “pre-order,” “official trailer” or exact MSRP claim as unverified unless it appears in an ASUS announcement, ASUS product page, authorized retailer listing or regulatory filing. Concept videos and search-optimized pages can use the ROG Phone 10 Pro name without representing a shipping device.

Wait only if indefinite uncertainty is acceptable
There is no known launch date to wait for. Waiting makes sense only if you can continue using your current phone without a guaranteed replacement and accept that ASUS may not release a new ROG model soon.
Include the accessory and support costs
An active cooler adds price and bulk. ASUS’s uncertain smartphone roadmap also makes future upgrades and accessory availability less predictable. Check the current support schedule for your regional model rather than assuming that a new ROG generation will follow.
Be careful with imported units
- Verify the exact model number and cellular-band compatibility.
- Confirm U.S. or local warranty eligibility and the seller’s authorization.
- Check charger type, regional software behavior and return rights.
- Confirm that the cooler and other accessories fit that specific SKU.
How to evaluate another gaming phone
If the ROG Phone 9 Pro is unavailable or unsuitable, compare real products rather than rumor pages. Prioritize independent sustained-performance and thermal testing, the controls you actually use, display behavior in your games, update policy, camera and everyday-phone quality, local warranty coverage and total cost with cooling accessories. A gaming phone’s chipset name alone does not establish long-session frame-rate stability.

“Asus ROG Phone 10 Pro” refers to a reportedly shelved development project, not a retail smartphone. The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, triple cameras, Wi-Fi 7, “Boston” codename and AI2601 identifier are leaked prototype details, not final specifications. ASUS has no announced 2026 smartphone launch, and the ROG Phone 9 Pro remains the latest confirmed ROG Pro model. Do not pay a rumored price or wait for a promised date; choose the ROG Phone 9 Pro only after checking current regional stock, warranty and support.
