Microsoft announced on June 20, 2023, that IGN and ID@Xbox would present an indie-focused digital showcase on July 11, 2023, at 10 a.m. Pacific Time. The program promised trailers, announcements and gameplay footage, and was paired with the separate ID@Xbox Summer Game Demo Fest.
This is a historical event, not a new 2026 announcement. Xbox Wire’s post-show recap said the presentation covered 20 games.
What Microsoft announced
According to Xbox Wire’s June 20, 2023 announcement, IGN and ID@Xbox were partnering on their first dedicated digital showcase. The presentation was built around independent games coming to Xbox and related Microsoft gaming platforms, with new trailers, announcements, gameplay footage and other updates.
It was positioned as an indie-focused event rather than a conventional first-party Xbox Games Showcase.

The broadcast began on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at 10 a.m. Pacific Time. That was 11 a.m. Mountain, noon Central and 1 p.m. Eastern in the United States. Microsoft published the announcement on June 20, 2023.

Showcase versus Summer Game Demo Fest
The stream and ID@Xbox Summer Game Demo Fest were related but different events. Demo Fest ran from July 11 through July 17, 2023, and offered more than 40 playable demos on Xbox consoles, according to Microsoft’s Demo Fest announcement.

Those demos were temporary. Microsoft warned that many would disappear after the festival, and described them as early, show-floor-style builds that might not represent final content, performance or release quality. Developers were using the event to gather feedback while their games were still in development. The 40-plus figure applies to Demo Fest, not to the number of games shown in the broadcast.
