ASUS also acknowledged that memory-supply constraints were reducing production output and disrupting restocking, so the clarification does not guarantee plentiful stock or launch pricing.
What ASUS confirmed
In its January 16 statement, ASUS said the RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5060 Ti 16GB “have not been discontinued or designated as EOL.” The company added that it had “no plans to stop selling these models.”
ASUS attributed fluctuations in availability primarily to memory constraints. According to the company, those constraints have temporarily affected production output and restocking cycles. ASUS said it would continue supporting the products and work with partners to stabilize supply.
That is a statement about product status and sales plans—not a guaranteed production volume, restock date or worldwide inventory level.

Why the discontinuation story appeared
The clarification followed reports from Hardware Unboxed that ASUS representatives had described the RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5060 Ti 16GB as being discontinued or moved to EOL status. ASUS later said some media had received incomplete information from a PR representative. Tom’s Hardware’s chronology also reported that NVIDIA told media it would continue shipping all GeForce SKUs while working with suppliers to maximize memory availability.
Several different things were being conflated:
- NVIDIA GPU supply: availability of the underlying GPU platform and memory.
- ASUS board production: ASUS’s ability to build branded add-in cards.
- Individual models: Prime, TUF Gaming, ProArt, Dual, white and factory-overclocked variants.
- Retail availability: whether a particular seller has a specific SKU in a particular country.
- Formal EOL status: a manufacturer’s lifecycle designation.
A product can remain active in a manufacturer’s portfolio while a particular board design is temporarily unavailable, produced in smaller quantities or removed from one retailer’s catalog.
Not discontinued does not mean easy to buy
ASUS did not promise continuous stock, fixed pricing, MSRP availability, equal distribution in every country, or continued production of every cooler, PCB and factory-overclocked variant. It also did not provide a restock timetable or minimum production volume.
The most defensible reading is therefore product continuity with uncertain supply. Memory constraints may continue to make availability uneven even while ASUS intends to keep selling both GPU lines.

| Model | Launch starting price | Availability announced | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| GeForce RTX 5070 Ti | $749 | February 2025 | NVIDIA RTX 50-series announcement |
| GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16GB | $429 | April 16, 2025 | NVIDIA RTX 5060 announcement |
Both cards have 16GB of graphics memory, but they occupy different performance and price classes. The RTX 5060 Ti 16GB is not a direct performance substitute for an RTX 5070 Ti simply because their memory capacities match.
What ASUS’s catalog shows
ASUS’s US NVIDIA graphics-card catalog continued to list RTX 5070 Ti 16GB products, including ProArt, Prime and TUF Gaming variants, as well as RTX 5060 Ti 16GB products such as Dual and TUF Gaming cards. The TUF Gaming catalog also showed entries for both models.
An ASUS US Prime RTX 5070 Ti OC Edition retailer page showed an ASUS Store price of $1,009.99 and marked several US retailers as in stock when captured. That is a time-sensitive listing for one premium variant, not a market-wide price or proof that every RTX 5070 Ti is available. Check the page directly before purchasing.
Should you buy now or wait?
If you need a GPU immediately
- Verify the exact ASUS SKU, not just the “RTX 5070 Ti” or “RTX 5060 Ti” name.
- Compare the total price with the historical $749 and $429 launch benchmarks, while allowing for normal market changes.
- Check cooler length and thickness, power-connector requirements, case clearance, warranty coverage and the seller’s return policy.
- Do not pay a large scarcity premium solely because of the EOL reports; ASUS formally rejected discontinuation.
- Do not assume a low-stock listing will be replenished quickly.
If you can wait
Waiting is reasonable when the current price is substantially above the relevant launch benchmark, when a preferred ASUS variant is unavailable, or when your existing GPU can cover your needs. ASUS supplied no date for normalized supply, so waiting may not produce lower prices or faster restocks.
If 16GB is the priority
Sixteen gigabytes can matter for high-resolution textures, ray tracing, content creation and other GPU-accelerated workloads. The RTX 5060 Ti 16GB and RTX 5070 Ti both meet that capacity requirement, but performance expectations, power needs and prices differ substantially.

How to interpret a missing listing
A retailer removing a page can reflect temporary stock exhaustion, a SKU change, regional distribution, or a decision to streamline one ASUS variant. It does not by itself establish EOL status. ASUS’s statement applies to the RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5060 Ti 16GB lines, not to an assurance that every Prime, TUF, ProArt, Dual, White, BTF or OC model will remain equally available.
Alternatives if ASUS stock is unavailable
Other RTX board partners
If the issue is ASUS-specific inventory, compare cards from other NVIDIA add-in-board partners. NVIDIA’s launch materials identify manufacturers including MSI, Gigabyte, PNY, Zotac, Palit, Gainward and GALAX. Compare the exact cooler, dimensions, warranty and price rather than assuming all partner cards are identical.

RTX 5060 Ti 8GB
NVIDIA launched the 8GB RTX 5060 Ti at a $379 starting price. It may cost less, but it is not an equivalent replacement for a buyer who specifically needs 16GB of VRAM. See NVIDIA’s product announcement for the launch configuration.
RTX 5070
The RTX 5070 launched at a $549 starting price and belongs to a different performance and memory configuration. Compare current, independently measured benchmarks for your games or applications before treating it as an alternative; the launch price alone does not establish equivalent value. NVIDIA’s announcement is available here.
AMD cards
AMD alternatives may make sense when rasterized gaming value or VRAM capacity matters more than NVIDIA-specific features. A fair choice depends on the current model and price, resolution, ray-tracing use, software support and the applications you run; there is no universal substitute established by the information available here.
Bottom line for buyers
ASUS’s January 16, 2026 position is clear: the RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5060 Ti 16GB were not discontinued, were not designated EOL and were not scheduled to stop selling. The same statement confirms that memory constraints have disrupted production and restocking. Treat them as active products with potentially uneven supply, and judge any purchase by the exact card’s price, fit, warranty and return terms—not by the EOL rumor or by an assumption that a restock is imminent.
