ASUS’s “ultimate Radeon GPU” was not a new graphics-card generation or a retail product. The finished card was a custom ASUS TUF Gaming Radeon RX 7900 XTX styled after Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 character Demetrian Titus and the Ultramarines, created primarily as a giveaway prize.
It was part of a 2024 ASUS, AMD, and Focus Entertainment promotion that also offered Space Marine 2 and Unknown 9: Awakening with selected hardware purchases. That purchase promotion and the related giveaway have ended.

ASUS teased a Space Marine 2 collector GPU
In August 2024, ASUS began teasing a limited-edition Radeon graphics card for fans of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2. The campaign combined a themed hardware giveaway with a separate game-bundle offer for qualifying ASUS Radeon and AMD Ryzen purchases.

ASUS’s teaser presented the card as a collector-focused object inspired by the game’s Warhammer 40,000 setting, rather than as a conventional new product line.

The teaser coverage appeared before the full reveal, which took place at ASUS’s ROG Gamescom press event on August 20, 2024. ASUS subsequently identified the card as being based on its TUF Gaming Radeon RX 7900 XTX.
It was a custom RX 7900 XTX—not a new Radeon GPU
The most important detail is what ASUS did—and did not—create:
- Underlying GPU: Radeon RX 7900 XTX.
- Board family: ASUS TUF Gaming Radeon RX 7900 XTX.
- Special feature: custom Space Marine 2-themed exterior styling and limited distribution.
- Retail status: intended for exclusive giveaways rather than normal retail sale.
“Ultimate Radeon GPU” was marketing and headline language, not the name of a new AMD architecture or a faster RX 7900 XTX variant. ASUS did not position the themed card as a new performance tier. Its appeal was its appearance, rarity, and connection to the game’s fiction.
That distinction matters for buyers. A standard TUF Gaming RX 7900 XTX uses the same underlying product platform. The collector version was not established as having a special GPU, extra compute capability, or a performance advantage over retail RX 7900 XTX cards.

Design inspired by Titus and the Ultramarines
The card’s design drew on Demetrian Titus, the Ultramarine protagonist associated with Space Marine 2, along with the iconography of the 41st millennium. The visual treatment was intended to make the card recognizable as a fan collectible, rather than simply another ASUS cooler design.
ASUS unveiled the finished card at Gamescom on August 20, 2024. The announcement described the graphics card as a limited-edition item allocated through the campaign, not as a model shoppers could add to a normal retail cart.

The retail promotion included two games
The themed GPU and the purchase bundle were separate benefits. Consumers who bought qualifying hardware during the promotion could receive codes for:

- Axial-tech fans now feature a smaller fan hub that facilitates longer blades and a barrier ring that increases downward air pressure
- Phase-change GPU thermal pad helps ensure optimal heat transfer, lowering GPU temperatures for enhanced performance and reliability
- 2.5-slot design allows for greater build compatibility while maintaining cooling performance
- Dual-ball fan bearings last up to twice as long as standard conventional sleeve bearings designs
- 0dB technology lets you enjoy light gaming in relative silence
- Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2
- Unknown 9: Awakening
The offer applied to selected ASUS Dual and TUF Gaming Radeon RX 7000-series graphics cards, as well as specified AMD Ryzen 7000-series processors. It did not mean that every ASUS Radeon card, every AMD processor, or every RX 7000-series SKU automatically qualified.
Eligible ASUS Radeon families listed by ASUS
| Family | Listed product tiers |
|---|---|
| ASUS TUF Gaming Radeon RX 7000 series | RX 7900 XTX, RX 7900 XT, RX 7900 GRE, RX 7800 XT, RX 7700 XT, and RX 7600 XT |
| ASUS Dual Radeon RX 7000 series | RX 7900 XTX, RX 7900 XT, RX 7900 GRE, RX 7800 XT, RX 7700 XT, and RX 7600 XT |
ASUS’s announcement used footnotes for regional and individual-model exceptions. The exact model number, participating retailer, country, and terms therefore mattered. “RX 7000 series” by itself was not proof that a purchase qualified.
Qualifying Ryzen processors listed by ASUS

- Ryzen 9 7900X
- Ryzen 9 7900
- Ryzen 7 7800X3D
- Ryzen 7 7700X
- Ryzen 7 7700
The initial campaign did not list Ryzen 9000-series processors. That was a limitation of this particular promotion, not a statement that Ryzen 9000 processors are incompatible with Space Marine 2.

Can you still buy the collector’s card?
Not through the original ASUS promotion. The purchase window ended on October 5, 2024, and the game-code redemption deadline ended on November 2, 2024. The special graphics card was intended to be distributed as a prize, not stocked as a standard retail SKU.

Second-hand listings may exist, but they should be treated as unofficial resale opportunities rather than evidence of an ASUS launch. A listing could represent a genuine giveaway card, a standard TUF RX 7900 XTX with decorative modifications, or an inaccurate description. Buyers would need to verify the exact hardware, condition, provenance, warranty, and any included codes independently.
Old listings that advertise “free” Space Marine 2 with a Radeon purchase should also be treated cautiously. The original offer was time-limited, and a used card may not include an unused or redeemable game code.

If the goal is collecting, the themed card’s value comes from its rarity and design—not from a documented performance advantage. If the goal is playing Space Marine 2, compare ordinary graphics cards based on current price, availability, warranty, cooler dimensions, power requirements, and performance reviews.
The retail ASUS TUF Gaming Radeon RX 7900 XTX is the closest conventional comparison because it provided the basis for the collector card. ASUS Dual Radeon RX 7000 cards may be more suitable for buyers who prefer a simpler design or need to pay closer attention to case clearance and cooler size. Exact availability and pricing vary by region and date.
For current products, consult the ASUS TUF Gaming Radeon RX 7900 XTX product page, the ASUS Dual graphics-card range, and AMD’s Radeon desktop graphics catalog. Verify the exact model and current retailer terms before purchasing; a current Radeon listing should not be assumed to include the expired promotion.

The bottom line
ASUS’s “ultimate Radeon” was a striking, limited-edition TUF Gaming Radeon RX 7900 XTX for Space Marine 2 fans, not a new GPU class. The custom card was associated with giveaways, while qualifying retail Radeon and Ryzen purchases separately included two game codes during a promotion that ended in 2024. Collectors may value the themed design, but gamers shopping for performance should evaluate standard Radeon cards and current alternatives on their present-day merits.
