What does Atari 50 Expanded Edition add?
Atari says the Expanded Edition brings two new timelines and 39 games to Atari 50. Its physical-edition description presents the collection as containing more than 100 playable classics and six entirely new titles. Those figures describe the full collection, not 39 additional Intellivision games. Atari’s Expanded Edition product page has the current product description.
The First Console War
The First Console War timeline looks at the historical competition between the Atari VCS and Mattel’s Intellivision. Nintendo’s Switch listing identifies 19 new games for this timeline, including M Network prototypes. That is a breakdown of this portion of the expanded content, not a complete list of all 39 additions. Nintendo’s listing applies specifically to the Switch version.
Not every addition is an Intellivision game
The 39-game total covers Atari, M Network and Intellivision-related material. The available official descriptions do not provide a complete item-by-item breakdown of all 39 additions, so the 19 games named for The First Console War should not be mistaken for the entire expansion.

What does Atari’s “Intellivision takeover” mean?
In May 2024, Atari announced that it had acquired the Intellivision brand and rights to more than 200 games. Atari’s current Intellivision brand page describes the portfolio and points to potential new games and licensing opportunities.
The deal did not mean Atari acquired the Amico company. Under the arrangement described in Atari’s acquisition announcement, Intellivision Entertainment LLC would rebrand and continue developing and distributing Amico products under license from Atari, including new versions of Intellivision games for Amico and Amico Home. The historical console rivalry represented in Atari 50 is a separate subject from that 2024 business transaction.

Is Expanded Edition the same as the Atari 50 DLC?
No: the names describe different ways to get the expanded content. Atari presents the Expanded Edition as a product, while owners of the earlier Atari 50 should check the downloadable-content option for their specific platform. The platform and storefront matter; a Switch listing does not establish that the same route or edition is available on PC or another console.
Before purchasing, confirm the listing explicitly says Expanded Edition or identifies the expansion content, and check whether it requires the original Atari 50. Availability, price and upgrade paths can vary by platform and region.

Yes. Atari has an official product page for the physical Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration – Expanded Edition. Whether it is currently in stock, which platform it supports, and whether it ships to your region depend on the live product and retailer listings. Confirm the platform and format before ordering rather than assuming a physical listing is universal.
