When did the Intellivision Sprint come out?
Atari announced pre-orders on October 17, 2025. TechRadar reported that the planned release dates were December 5, 2025, in the US and Australia, and December 23 in Europe. Those were announced regional dates, not confirmation that every shipment arrived on schedule. In a May 2026 corporate update, Atari said it released the Sprint in December. Its current product page now lists it as available. Atari’s announcement and TechRadar’s release-date report provide the announcement and scheduled dates; Atari’s May 2026 trading update confirms the release month.

What is the Intellivision Sprint?
It is Atari’s modern take on the Mattel Electronics Intellivision, with a design intended to evoke the original system and modern connections and controllers. Atari’s history page says the original Intellivision launched in 1979 and sold an estimated 5 million units; that estimate refers to the original platform, not the Sprint.
Games and hardware
Atari lists 45 built-in games, including Boulder Dash, Shark! Shark!, Astrosmash and Baseball. The console connects to a TV through HDMI and comes with two wireless, rechargeable disc controllers that dock in the console.

#1 Best Overall
- THE FIRST INTELLIVISION, BROUGHT TO YOU BY ATARI: Well known as rivals in the 1980s, Atari and Intellivision have come together to bring you a modernized version of the classic console.
- 45 BUILT-IN GAMES: Plug in and start playing. Features some of the best games made for the system, including Boulder Dash, Shark! Shark!, Baseball, Astrosmash, and more!
- EASY TO CONNECT: Play on modern TVs and monitors with HDMI output.
- 2 WIRELESS CONTROLLERS: The Intellivision disc controllers have been updated to be wireless and rechargeable. Simply dock the controllers into the console to store and recharge.
- OVERLAYS FOR ALL GAMES: Overlays for every game, each with new designs. Includes 2 overlays for each game, overlays are single-sided.
What comes in the box
Atari lists the console, two wireless controllers, overlays, a USB-C power cable and an HDMI cable. An AC adapter is not included, so plan to provide a compatible one. The product page gives conflicting overlay totals: its feature list says 92 overlays, while its box-contents list says 96 single-sided overlays. Atari has not clarified the discrepancy on that page, so neither number should be treated as definitive.
How much does it cost, and where is it available?
Atari’s product page currently lists the Sprint at $149.99 and available now, with 1–2 business-day shipping from its US and European warehouses. Price, stock and shipping estimates can change; check the listing for your location before ordering. This is Atari’s direct-store listing, not a statement of third-party retailer pricing.

The Sprint revisits a system with a long-running place in console history. Atari attributes the line “Uniting Atari and Intellivision after 45 years ends the longest running console war in history” to Mike Mika, Studio Head at Digital Eclipse. The quote describes the reunion of the brands; it does not establish sales or performance claims about the Sprint.
