Which Atelier Sophie game are you playing?
Koei Tecmo America’s official page identifies the original role-playing game as Atelier Sophie ~The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book~. That page lists PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita; the Vita edition is marked digital only. Steam separately lists Atelier Sophie: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book DX, a Windows release dated April 21, 2021. The trainer question makes more sense when the underlying game systems are clear. Sophie is a novice alchemist who encounters Plachta, a sentient book with knowledge of alchemy. Sophie learns recipes, gathers ingredients, explores, and synthesizes items while trying to restore Plachta’s lost memories. The official description summarizes the central goal as using alchemy to restore the memories Plachta has nearly all lost.

Time and weather also affect the world. The official game page describes changes to creatures, gatherable materials, town activity, and events as time and weather change. A hypothetical “freeze time” or “infinite materials” function would therefore alter more than a single combat statistic, which is one reason an unverified option list should not be treated as a feature specification.
Combat is turn-based. You select party actions and assign offensive or defensive stances; characters can use items, build a Chain Gauge, and activate cooperative Chain Links. How to check compatibility before running anything

The game crashes when an option is activated

Safer ways to make progression easier
Atelier Sophie already builds progression around controllable systems. Improve synthesis by gathering a broader range of materials, experimenting with traits, and keeping useful ingredients rather than selling every surplus. Prepare equipment and consumables before difficult areas, and pay attention to the calendar because weather and time influence what appears. In battle, use defensive or offensive stances deliberately, build the Chain Gauge, and coordinate Chain Links instead of treating every encounter as a damage race.
These approaches preserve the intended interaction between exploration, alchemy, and combat and do not depend on an unverified executable modification. They are also portable between the original game’s official console releases and the DX edition, whereas a trainer’s behavior is not.
