Short answer: the official Athena Crisis materials do not publish a general cheat-code list. What players often call “cheats” are campaign unlocks, alternate objectives, secret units, editor tools, and tactical techniques. You earn most skills by completing campaign actions, while careful use of combat forecasts, formations, economy, and charged powers determines whether you can meet a map’s hidden rewards and star goals.
Athena Crisis is a modern-retro, turn-based strategy game released on September 23, 2024. Its official Steam listing describes single-player campaigns, synchronous and asynchronous multiplayer, an editor, skills, unit powers, more than 40 units, and over 30 hours of official and community-created content. Victory can mean eliminating opposing units, capturing structures, escorting a unit to an escape zone, or surviving for a specified number of turns. Those different objectives are why a single “best cheat” cannot solve every map.

Are there Athena Crisis cheat codes?
No working, general-purpose cheat-code list is documented in the official material reviewed for this guide. That is different from proving that no undocumented codes exist. Unless a code is independently verified in the current game build, treat websites or videos claiming button combinations, password screens, infinite credits, or invincibility as unconfirmed.
The systems that do provide extra power are legitimate progression systems:

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
- Campaign actions unlock skills and sometimes alter the route through the campaign.
- Hidden or alternate objectives can award skills, units, portraits, or stars.
- Secret units may become buildable after you obtain their associated skill or a skill that unlocks a special building.
- The map editor can preview skills, but editor access is not a campaign cheat and does not grant a normal-map reward automatically.
Use those systems as unlockables rather than searching for an unverified code. Map objectives and rewards can change with updates, so check the objective panel and your current build when following an exact walkthrough.
How campaign skills and alternate routes unlock
Choose the objective that matches the reward
Many maps can be won by destroying every enemy, but total elimination is not always the most rewarding route. A map may contain a second objective that opens another campaign branch, grants a skill, or gives a choice of the next map. Read the information and objective panel before deploying. If the map names an escape zone, structure, turn limit, or other condition, plan around that condition instead of assuming that the last enemy must die.
The Shrine example in the Prequel Campaign
The opening Prequel Campaign map, Shrine, demonstrates the difference clearly:
| What you do on Shrine | Documented result |
|---|---|
| Eliminate the enemies | Earns the Attack Up skill and advances along one route. |
| Capture the Shipyard in the corner | Yields two skills and lets you choose which map to play next. |
The Shipyard route is therefore not a secret password. It is an alternate map objective. If you want its reward, identify the capture requirement early, preserve a unit capable of reaching the structure, and avoid ending the map through a different victory condition first.
When to select a skill
Skills are selected before a map starts. The official wiki warns that changing a campaign skill after the map has begun requires giving up and replaying that map. Most campaign maps limit you to one skill; player-versus-player maps allow up to two. Choose after reading the objective, enemy composition, and available production rather than selecting a favorite skill automatically.

Previewing skills in the editor
For a preview of the skill catalogue, use the editor rather than a code:
- Open Create Map.
- Open the map editor and press T to enter Setup.
- Find a team name and select the skill icon beside it.
This reveals skills for map-design and discovery purposes. It does not document a way to inject those skills into a campaign save or bypass the campaign’s unlock requirements.

Secret units and how to handle them
Secret units commonly appear on maps covered by fog of war. They may begin neutral and attack whichever force they encounter, so revealing one is not automatically an advantage. A powerful neutral unit can become a third threat while you are already fighting the map’s main army.
A safe way to capture or defeat a neutral unit
- Reveal the area with a unit that can retreat rather than exposing your most valuable attacker.
- Draw the neutral unit toward a cheaper, expendable unit if the map permits this.
- Concentrate several attacks on the neutral target during the same turn, using the combat preview before each commitment.
- Keep a route open for wounded units; do not let the lure unit block your own reinforcements.
Some secret units become buildable after their corresponding skill is obtained. Others require a special building unlocked by a skill. The campaign guide describes this as an unlock chain, not an instant reward for merely discovering a unit in the fog.
Curated campaign rewards
An official Steam announcement for the curated campaigns Trials of War and Wisdom and Avenger’s Ace says that completing the former unlocks the Scientist unit and completing the latter unlocks the Humvee Avenger. The announcement excerpt displays “July 24” without a year, so verify the specific update in the current game before relying on a dated event schedule. The same announcement describes rewards that can include skills, units, portraits, and stars.

Combat tips that work without cheats
Read the combat forecast first
Select a unit and inspect the combat preview before attacking. It shows anticipated damage and the counterattack you should expect. The detailed unit view, described in the controls guide, supplies additional unit information. Make this check routine; a move that looks safe from the map view can expose a fragile attacker to a lethal return strike.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsStrike dangerous enemies while they are healthy
Wounded units deal less damage. The official guide summarizes the principle this way: “Units deal less damage when they have been wounded, so it’s almost always best to try and strike first on enemy units, especially more powerful offensive units, to reduce the amount of damage they’re capable of dealing to your own units.”
In practice, use a two-step attack when the forecast supports it. First, damage the threatening enemy with a unit that can survive the counterattack or attack from safety. Then send a second unit to finish it after its offensive power has fallen. Do not assume the second attacker is safe: check its own forecast, range, and likely retaliation.
Build a line of battle
Keep useful front-line units between enemy attackers and fragile support units. A simple formation has defenders in the first contact squares, ranged attackers behind them, and mobile or utility units positioned where they can reinforce either side without becoming the first target.
Ranged units are most valuable when they can fire without receiving a direct attack. The official tips article illustrates the idea with Rocket Launchers firing at Heavy Tanks: use distance and a protective line so the launcher contributes damage without trading health unnecessarily. Re-form the line after every advance; a gap created by one destroyed defender can expose several support units at once.

Protect credits and production buildings
Buildings under your control determine the credits you receive at the start of turns, and credits determine which units you can build. Capturing an income or production site is therefore both an economic and a military decision. Hold useful buildings with units that can defend them, and account for the possibility that a fast enemy will raid the site on its next turn.
- Capture an important building when the defending unit can survive the expected response.
- Do not spend every credit on a single expensive unit if losing the building would stop your reinforcement cycle.
- Keep a reserve for the unit type that counters the enemy’s next likely attack.
- When a building is isolated, compare its income against the units required to hold it.
Use charged skills early enough to matter
Activated skills remain active until the beginning of your next turn. The official How To Play page recommends activating one early in your turn so its effect covers your ensuing actions and the opponent’s response. Charges accrue through normal play actions, including combat and capturing or destroying buildings.
That timing creates a useful decision rule: if a power will improve several attacks, a capture, or a defensive line through the enemy turn, activate it before those actions. Waiting until the final move may waste most of its duration. Conversely, do not spend a charge merely because it is available if the map’s next objective will create a better opportunity.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Health, effectiveness, and finishing priorities
The official Units page says combat effectiveness falls as a unit loses health but cannot fall below 20 percent. The floor does not make a critically wounded unit safe. A unit at the minimum effectiveness can still be a liability because it may die to the next attack, block a production site, or fail a star condition that limits losses.
Prioritize targets using three questions:
- Can this enemy deliver a dangerous counterattack before I can move again?
- Can I reduce its health from a safe position and finish it without losing one of my own units?
- Does destroying it advance the map’s stated objective, or would reaching a structure or escape zone matter more?
That order prevents the common mistake of chasing a nearly dead unit while a healthy high-damage attacker remains free to act.

Campaign stars: Pace, Power, and Style
Campaign stars measure three different forms of performance. Read the thresholds on the map’s information panel before committing to a route.
| Star category | What it measures | Planning implication |
|---|---|---|
| Pace | A turn limit. | Prioritize movement and the shortest valid victory route; prolonged attrition can fail even after a conventional win. |
| Power | Defeating a specified number of enemy units without losing one of your own. | Choose favorable matchups and avoid trades that satisfy the map’s normal win but break the no-loss requirement. |
| Style | A limit on how many of your units may be lost. | Preserve expendable-looking units when the threshold is strict; use forecasts before every risky attack. |
If the Pace target looks impossible through a direct battle, reconsider the route instead of simply taking more fights. The campaign guide gives sneaking infantry to the enemy headquarters with a Transport Chopper as an example of solving a time objective through positioning rather than attrition. An alternate objective can be faster, safer, or both.
A practical pre-map checklist
- Read every listed objective, including capture, escort, survival, and turn-limit conditions.
- Identify whether the map rewards total elimination or offers a route-changing alternative.
- Select a skill before starting; remember that changing it after deployment means replaying.
- Mark likely income and production buildings and assign a unit to defend each one you need.
- Plan a front line that shields support and ranged units.
- Reserve a safe way to reveal fog-of-war areas and deal with neutral secret units.
- Check the combat forecast and counterattack for every attack.
- Track Pace, Power, and Style separately; a normal victory can still miss a star.
- Activate charged powers early in the turn when their duration will cover multiple actions and the enemy response.
What is established—and what is not
The documented systems establish campaign-earned skills, hidden objectives, secret-unit unlock chains, combat forecasts, charged powers, and performance stars. They do not establish a universal code for infinite credits, instant victory, invulnerability, or every unit from the start. The editor’s skill preview is likewise not evidence of a campaign exploit.
