To complete The Windfall Shipment in Atomfall, recover Windfall’s keycard and note from the Protocol Workshop, then use the keycard on Windfall’s crate at the Protocol Field Station. The crate contains the Signal Redirector. You can discover the lead through several notes, but the keycard-to-crate route is shared.

How to start The Windfall Shipment
The lead can be uncovered in more than one way. Neoseeker describes these discovery routes:
- Read “We Need to Get Windfall Out” in a car at the Skethermoor Road Blockade.
- Follow the Little Tea Room route to encounter “Windfall’s Discovery Dies With Me.”
- Find “A Crate From the Windfall Shipment?” near Windfall’s crate at the Protocol Field Station.
None of these discovery notes is established as universally required. If you have already found the crate or followed the Little Tea Room route, you can still proceed through the Workshop to obtain the keycard and Windfall’s note.

Recover Windfall’s Keycard at the Protocol Workshop
- Travel to the Protocol Workshop at 38.0E, 77.4N. The described route enters through a hatch.
- Move through the complex toward the bathroom. Protocol soldiers are present, so watch for patrols as you navigate.
- In the bathroom, squeeze through the crawlspace to reach Windfall’s body.
- Loot both the Windfall Keycard and the note “Windfall’s Discovery Dies With Me.” The keycard is what you need to open the shipment crate.
The Workshop route also has optional loot beyond the body, including a Training Stimulant and B.A.R.D. crates accessed through a vent; neither is described as necessary to open Windfall’s crate.
Find the crate and claim the Signal Redirector
- Go to the Protocol Field Station at 41.3E, 74.9N. In the described walkthrough, the station is not marked on the map.
- Enter through the hatch and take the first left-hand diversion toward the storage room.
- Use the Windfall Keycard on Windfall’s crate and collect the Signal Redirector.
Protocol soldiers patrol the Field Station and surrounding area, so account for them while approaching and moving through the site.

Optional discoveries at the Field Station
These detours are additional exploration, not prerequisites for opening the shipment:
- Armoury: Redirect power to access it. The walkthrough lists weapons, ammunition, an Antidote recipe, and a B.A.R.D. crate inside.
- Flooded room: A room is both flooded and electrified; the Signal Redirector can shut off its power so you can explore it.
- Storage room: A vent from the Mess Hall leads to a storage room.
- Operations Room: Search here for the Combat Stim recipe.
The walkthrough does not specify every switch or interaction needed for each detour, so use the facility’s power controls and vents as you explore rather than treating these side areas as part of the shipment’s core objective.
