Check the exact root name in your recipe or Hunter’s Guide, pin it, then use Na’vi vision to help spot it. The locations below are reported by community and game guides, not independently verified spawn guarantees.
Find the right root before you travel
- Check the name. Roots are distinct gatherables. Match the root named in your recipe to the entry in your Hunter’s Guide rather than searching for “roots” generally.
- Pin that entry. With the resource pinned, use Na’vi vision while exploring to highlight it. This method is recommended in the Dot Esports Canopy Root guide.
- Use the map’s biome display and landmark. For Canopy Root, the guide specifically recommends identifying the Wild Vines biome on the map and searching west of Tangled Lake, behind Woodsprite Arches.
The map guide identifies Kinglor Forest, Upper Plains, and Clouded Forest as the three main regions and notes that flight becomes available through story progress; the listed root landmarks also include the Heart of the Plains. See PowerPyx’s full world map guide for regional context.

Where to find Pale Canopy Root
A more navigable route than the resource table’s broad landmark is provided by Gamer Guides: travel to Shadow Hollow in Spinner’s Circle, Kinglor Forest, then find the large tree east of Shadow Hollow. Enter the opening at the tree’s base and look up and left for the root. The guide recommends waiting for Hurricane weather for best quality. However, the resource table says every Pale Canopy Root is Exquisite, so its weather advice does not establish a higher rarity than Exquisite. See Gamer Guides’ Pale Material locations.

There is no single confirmed high-quality Cave Root location across the available guides. The resource table points to caves near Blistering Roots and names a waterfall cave west of Council Falls near Hydro Injector Alpha for Superior and Exquisite roots. Gamer Guides describes ordinary Cave Roots in Upper Plains caves and directs players to a cave west of Zakru Falls; for higher-quality roots, it instead reports Blistering Roots and Cascading Stones in Clouded Forest. These are competing guide reports, not one route that can safely be combined into a guaranteed spawn.

Gamer Guides also says Cave Roots are used to craft Heavy Bows and advises holding the stick down while gathering to help obtain pristine quality. Its page lists a guide release date of 5 December 2023 and a last update of 4 April 2025.
