Avowed patch notes by version
Obsidian’s issue tracker lists entries for Anniversary Update Patch 2.0, Hotfix 1.5.2, patches 1.2.2, 1.2.3, 1.2.4, 1.3.0, 1.3.1, 1.4.0, 1.5.0, and Patch 2.1. The tracker is useful for finding version-specific notes and checking reported issue status. For older entries, consult the linked announcement rather than inferring the changes from a version label.

What changed in Patch 2.1?
Released March 25, 2026, Patch 2.1 added a community-requested setting that lets players turn off enemy respawns. Obsidian also lists gameplay and technical fixes, including an issue that reset PS5 controller settings and a crash when fast-travelling on PS5. The announcement includes other PC, Xbox, and PlayStation fixes; check the official Patch 2.1 notes for the full platform-specific list.
How to turn off enemy respawns
- Open Settings.
- Choose Gameplay, then Combat.
- Toggle the enemy-respawn option off.
Issue status can change after a patch. Obsidian’s live issue tracker separately marked the PS5 controller-rebinding issue “Fixed on Live”; check the tracker for the current status of any issue you are troubleshooting.

What is in the Avowed Anniversary Update?
Obsidian released the Anniversary Update on February 17, 2026, alongside the PlayStation 5 version. It introduced several major additions for both new and returning players. The update also marked the end of the post-launch roadmap, according to Obsidian’s announcement.
- New Game Plus: Start another playthrough with the mode’s added progression option. If you completed Avowed before New Game Plus was added, Obsidian says you need a completion save to access it.
- Three playable species: The update added three new choices for character creation.
- Quarterstaff: A new bludgeoning weapon type, described by Obsidian as designed for an archmage fantasy and featuring wand-style stun finishers.
- Photo Mode: A new mode for composing and capturing in-game images.
- Character and game customization: New options include appearance changes, character presets, custom difficulty settings, and additional Godlike feature presets.
Xbox Wire’s announcement by Avowed Gameplay Director Gabriel Paramo also confirms the update went live across platforms and that the PS5 release included the past year of updates. The PlayStation Store listing describes the PS5 digital edition and its update features; it does not establish a physical edition.

What changed in earlier Avowed updates?
Obsidian’s roadmap summary provides context for the 2025 updates, but it is not a substitute for individual patch notes. The official roadmap describes the spring update as adding arachnophobia-safe mode, fog-of-war improvements, more gold and crafting materials, Soul Pod changes, and unique-gear improvements. The summer update included cooking and crafting improvements, NPC behavior changes, abilities, unique weapons and armor, custom map markers, and Japanese and Korean language support. For the exact changes in a specific version, use its entry in the issue tracker.

Obsidian’s bug-report guidance asks players to provide a brief issue summary, reproduction steps, a screenshot or clip, a save file from before the issue, and system specifications. Reports can be sent by email or through the Obsidian Support portal.

The same support guidance lists Windows 10 or 11 with updates, 16 GB RAM, DirectX 12, and 75 GB of available storage for both minimum and recommended PC profiles; the listed CPU and GPU requirements differ by tier. Requirements can change, so check the support page for the current specifications before troubleshooting installation or performance.
