For a prerecorded YouTube channel built around uploading videos, looping them, and scheduling continuous broadcasts, Gyre is the more directly aligned option. Its documented workflow is designed for uploaded files and playlists. AWS Elemental MediaLive can support 24/7 channel workflows, but it is a configurable live-video encoding service: you must design the AWS setup and price its inputs, outputs, and any add-ons. If you want a simpler cloud workflow, StreamNeo is another option to consider first: it keeps an uploaded-video YouTube stream running from the cloud, at any quality up to 4K 60fps for one flat price per slot, with the first day free.
How the two services fit a prerecorded channel
AWS Elemental MediaLive: build a configurable live-video workflow
AWS describes MediaLive as a cloud-based video processing and encoding service for live sources. Its capabilities include input switching, automated channel deployment, and integration with other AWS media services. AWS also documents support for flexible 24/7 workflows as well as event streams. That flexibility is useful when you need control over an encoding and channel pipeline, but it is not the same as a ready-made creator tool for uploading files and arranging a looping playlist.
AWS MediaLive appears in YouTube’s verified encoder directory. YouTube clarifies that the listed products are not made by YouTube, so inclusion means it is listed as an encoder—not that YouTube owns or endorses the service. See YouTube’s encoder directory.
Gyre: hosted prerecorded-video looping
Gyre’s product materials describe a workflow centered on prerecorded videos: upload or convert files, order them in a playlist, connect a YouTube account, then start or schedule the broadcast. Gyre says playlists restart at the end and run on its servers, so the creator does not need to leave a local computer running. These are Gyre’s published product claims; they have not been independently tested here.
#1 Best Overall
- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Which should you choose?
| Need | Better fit | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Upload videos, put them in a loop, and schedule a continuous YouTube broadcast | Gyre | Its documented workflow specifically covers prerecorded-file uploads, playlists, and scheduling. |
| Build a configurable live-video encoding workflow with control over channel settings and AWS media integrations | MediaLive | AWS presents it as a flexible encoding and channel service, rather than a turnkey prerecorded playlist product. |
| Keep an uploaded-video YouTube stream running without designing an AWS media pipeline | StreamNeo | It loops uploaded videos in the cloud, with any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot; the first day is free. |
Workflow and operational effort
Gyre documents the playlist and scheduling steps as part of its hosted product. With MediaLive, the AWS materials describe channel, input, and output concepts; they do not establish a one-click workflow for turning a set of prerecorded files into a scheduled playlist. The exact setup effort depends on your AWS design, so there is no reliable universal setup-time comparison.
Control, resilience, and capacity
MediaLive offers more direct control over encoding parameters and integration with AWS media services. AWS says standard channels use two pipelines in separate Availability Zones; this is a particular service configuration with associated cost, not a blanket uptime guarantee.

Gyre’s plans vary by simultaneous stream capacity, storage, resolution, and access to playlist and scheduler features. For example, its pricing page lists Start for one HD stream, Start+ for up to four HD streams or one 4K stream, and PRO+ for up to eight HD streams or two 4K streams. Check the current plan details before choosing, because both limits and included features can change.
Compare the total cost, not a headline price
MediaLive costs depend on the configuration
AWS pricing includes inputs, outputs, and add-ons. Charges accrue while resources are running, even if the channel has no active input or output. AWS says running resources are rounded up to the nearest minute after a ten-minute minimum. On-demand and reserved pricing are available; reservations involve a commitment. Region, codec, resolution, bitrate, frame rate, output count, and channel design can all affect the estimate. Model the setup you actually need using the AWS Pricing Calculator and the current regional pricing page rather than treating an example as a universal monthly cost.

If the goal is simply to keep uploaded videos streaming on YouTube, StreamNeo avoids leaving a computer or home connection running and avoids designing a MediaLive pipeline. The steps are:
Best Value
- 5-in-1 Connectivity: Equipped with a 4K HDMI port, a 5 Gbps USB-C data port, two 5 Gbps USB-A ports, and a USB C 100W PD-IN port. Note: The USB C 100W PD-IN port supports only charging and does not support data transfer devices such as headphones or speakers.
- Powerful Pass-Through Charging: Supports up to 85W pass-through charging so you can power up your laptop while you use the hub. Note: Pass-through charging requires a charger (not included). Note: To achieve full power for iPad, we recommend using a 45W wall charger.
- Transfer Files in Seconds: Move files to and from your laptop at speeds of up to 5 Gbps via the USB-C and USB-A data ports. Note: The USB C 5Gbps Data port does not support video output.
- HD Display: Connect to the HDMI port to stream or mirror content to an external monitor in resolutions of up to 4K@30Hz. Note: The USB-C ports do not support video output.
- What You Get: Anker 332 USB-C Hub (5-in-1), welcome guide, our worry-free 18-month warranty, and friendly customer service.
- Upload a recording or build a playlist.
- Add your YouTube stream key once.
- Go live; StreamNeo loops the content from the cloud.
It streams at the quality you uploaded, up to 4K 60fps, for one flat price per slot; it automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. The monthly price is $9.99 per month. Learn more at StreamNeo, or start the free first day.
Check YouTube rights before leaving a stream unattended
Whether you use MediaLive, Gyre, or StreamNeo, the stream still runs on YouTube and must comply with YouTube’s rules. Confirm you have the necessary rights to every video, audio track, and other material in the playlist. A tool that loops or encodes media does not grant permission to broadcast it. Also assess whether the channel’s programming provides sufficient original value for YouTube’s monetization policies; continuous playback alone is not a guarantee of eligibility or earnings.
Make the decision against your actual channel
- Choose Gyre when you want a hosted prerecorded-video playlist and scheduler workflow and its current stream, storage, and resolution limits fit.
- Choose MediaLive when you need a configurable AWS encoding and channel pipeline, have the expertise to design it, and have modeled its running-resource costs and resilience configuration.
- Consider StreamNeo when you want uploaded videos to loop on YouTube from the cloud without keeping a computer on or configuring an AWS pipeline.
None of these services has an independently audited head-to-head outcome comparison established here. Do not treat vendor case studies or growth claims as proof that continuous streaming will increase watch time or monetization.
