According to Game8’s Backhive location guide, the boss is in The Claim Abandoned Auger Mine, within the Dissected Plateau region of Fadefields. The guide says you can reach the area after completing the Shadow of the Mountain main mission. This route and progression detail is third-party guide reporting, not a publisher-confirmed location listing.

How to fight Backhive
Game8 recommends prioritizing the Nitro Kratches that Backhive summons, since leaving them active adds threats while you are dealing with the boss. The same guide advises jumping over area attacks and dashing sideways to avoid Backhive’s charge.

Backhive drops
Game8 lists three possible drops: Stop Gap, Cindershelly, and Triple Bypass. Lootlemon’s Backhive boss entry also names those items. Its displayed probability figures differ from other results and are not confirmed by a primary source, so there is no reliable drop rate to quote here.
If you are farming, focus on the item you actually want rather than assuming one is more likely to drop: the available sources establish the listed items, but do not establish authoritative odds or a ranking among them. Game8 also has a separate Stop Gap guide that connects the item to Backhive.
