Badges are wagerable modifiers for the dice minigame in Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, not character perks or achievement badges. They can change a throw, boost scoring, or interfere with an opponent’s effect. You can acquire them from merchants, gamblers, quests, and exploration, but which badge you can use depends on the match.

How badges work in dice matches

You can wager a badge alongside the dice-game stake. When a badge is available, activate it using the on-screen button prompt. Your choices can depend on the opponent or match type, and your opponent may wager a badge too. Badges commonly come in tin, silver, and gold tiers, with stronger tiers generally offering stronger effects. GameSpot’s badge and unique-dice guide and INARA’s badge reference describe the system.

What different badge effects do

  • Fortune and rerolls: reroll dice after a throw. The Gold Wedding Badge, for example, lets you reroll up to three dice once per match.
  • Headstart: begin with a point lead; the size varies by tier.
  • Might: add a die to a throw, with higher-tier versions allowing more uses.
  • Resurrection: take another throw after an unlucky result.
  • Transmutation: change a die to a selected result; the result available varies by tier.
  • Warlord and Doppelganger: increase or multiply points for a turn or throw.
  • Defence: cancel an opponent’s badge effect of the relevant tier.
  • Advantage badges: add scoring formations such as the Cut, Gallows, or Eye.

These are effect categories, not a guarantee that each named badge is available in every match, playthrough, or game version.

How to choose a badge

Match the effect to the situation rather than assuming the highest tier is always the best choice. A reroll can help recover from an awkward throw; a headstart or scoring boost can help when you want to build a lead; a defence badge matters when an opponent’s badge could swing the match. Where to get badges

Merchants and gamblers

Check merchants, including village tavern owners, and look for opportunities to win badges from gamblers. Merchant stock can include unique dice as well as badges, and the items may be expensive. Availability and stock should not be assumed to be identical everywhere. GameSpot and INARA both identify merchants as a source.

Gold Wedding Badge: complete the sequence before the story advances

The Gold Wedding Badge route is tied to the main quest Wedding Crashers. GameSpot’s walkthrough describes speaking with the bailiff, winning the relevant matches, and then defeating Innkeeper Betty in a match with a 200-Groschen wager. The reward lets you reroll up to three dice once per match. GameSpot’s route warns that you should finish this badge sequence before speaking to the bride after the vows: that conversation triggers a cutscene and ends that part of the campaign. Plan for the wager and the quest timing before continuing the wedding sequence.

Gold Emperor’s Badge: explore beneath Trosky Castle

GameSpot reports that the Gold Emperor’s Badge is in an underground tunnel reached from the dungeon beneath the kitchen at Trosky Castle. The described route goes down a staircase from a cell and follows the tunnel to a pool beneath a well; the badge is on a nearby rock. The guide notes that access may be possible during several quest windows, so the route is not presented as a single exclusive quest opportunity. Its reported effect triples points from 1+1+1 combinations. This is a third-party guide’s route, not an official walkthrough. See the reported location and route.

Tin Balatro’s Badge: content reported for version 1.5.6

GamesRadar reported that version 1.5.6 added Jimbo, Balatro’s die, and Tin Balatro’s Badge. The badge lets you change the result of Balatro’s die once per game. Because this is a version-specific report, check that the encounter and content are available in your current game build. GamesRadar’s report gives the update context.

Is there a complete badge list?

There is no established, authoritative, fully current inventory in the references cited here, so an older total should not be treated as definitive. A February 18, 2025 guide claimed 31 badges while describing its locations as known and saying the list would be updated as discoveries came in. Community lists also vary in names or entries, and the later report of version 1.5.6 content adds another reason not to assume an older count is complete. The 51YCG guide is a dated list, not confirmation of the current total.
