Bahnsen Knights is a single-player interactive narrative game from LCB Game Studio, published by Chorus Worldwide Games. Steam lists its release date as December 14, 2023. You play Boulder, an undercover agent investigating the disappearance of fellow agent Cupra while infiltrating a car-obsessed religious cult in 1986 Tornado Alley.

Are there cheats or cheat codes?

Tips for a spoiler-light first playthrough
Read every interaction before selecting
Dialogue is the primary interface for both investigation and trust-building. Read the complete line, note who is speaking and consider what Boulder is trying to protect. Avoid clicking through simply to see the next screen: a response can alter the tone of a conversation or close off an opportunity without announcing that it has done so.
Watch for timed sequences
Quick-time events and on-screen counters are there to create pressure. When the interface changes, stop scanning the scene and focus on the prompt. A missed input may produce a failed outcome, which can be useful on a completion file but surprising on a first run. Keep your hands on the controls during tense conversations rather than assuming the game is still in ordinary text mode.

Inspect rooms and vehicles instead of following only the critical path
Steam achievements explicitly reward discovering five new pieces of evidence, finding a secret evidence stash and opening every trunk. Those conditions show that optional objects matter. When a scene offers several things to examine, check the edges of the environment and revisit a location if the story gives you another opportunity to do so.
Record your own evidence logic
Do not treat the evidence screen as a checklist to click randomly. Note what each item proves, which person or event it relates to and what remains uncertain. That habit prepares you for the “SHERLOCK!” and “HOLMES!” achievements, both of which concern correct evidence assignment.
Let the first run preserve uncertainty
Because the game is a branching investigation, a guide that reveals every answer can remove the tension the design is trying to create. If you miss an optional object, finish the current scene and write down where it happened. You can target it during a later run without exposing the rest of the plot.
Investigation and evidence strategy
Build a case, not just a collection
Finding an item and assigning it correctly are separate skills. A useful routine is:
- Inspect every available object and conversation for new information.
- Read the evidence description as soon as it is added.
- Connect the item to the person, place or event it actually supports.
- Delay a guess when the text does not establish a clear connection.
- Recheck your assignments before a major investigation decision.
The achievement list distinguishes the first correct assignment, five new discoveries, a secret stash and assigning all evidence correctly. The progression therefore rewards both exploration and accuracy; collecting everything without understanding it is not enough for the highest evidence goal.

Use a simple external note if you want a clean completion file
A small note with three columns—evidence name, what it establishes and where you found it—can prevent repeated mistakes during replays. This is an organizational aid, not a substitute for reading the in-game descriptions. Keep it spoiler-light by recording facts rather than writing future branch outcomes.

The list also includes achievements for specific deaths or failed outcomes, including dying in a back seat, at a lake and in an emergency exit. These are not necessarily mistakes to avoid. On a story-first run, they may interrupt the ending you want; on a completion run, they are legitimate targets.
How to plan an all-achievements run
1. Finish one natural route without a guide
Learn the interface, the evidence screen and the timing rules. Make notes about objects you could not access or outcomes that surprised you. Do not restart every time a conversation feels imperfect; you need a finished route to understand what a later replay should change.
2. Sweep for investigation achievements
On the next pass, prioritize optional examinations. Check trunks, books and less conspicuous locations. Count your evidence discoveries and look for opportunities that were unavailable or easy to overlook in the first route.

3. Correct your evidence assignments
Use your notes to distinguish “found” from “correctly assigned.” Secure the early assignment achievement naturally, then work toward the all-evidence condition once your case record is complete.
4. Take the solitaire opportunity
Via crucis is explicitly named in the “CROSS ONE OUT!” condition. When the game presents the solitaire activity, play it rather than assuming it is decorative. The documented requirement is to win a game, so a completion file should reserve time for a successful attempt.
5. Reserve a branch for failure achievements
Do not contaminate a preferred ending by experimenting randomly. After you have a satisfactory story outcome, replay from an appropriate earlier point and test the documented death or failure situations one at a time. The available material confirms the existence of these outcomes but does not verify the exact choice sequences that trigger them.
6. Use a community guide only when you accept spoilers

- Choose a first run if discovering the cult, investigation and character relationships matters more than a perfect achievement percentage.
- Choose a completion run if you are comfortable replaying scenes, recording evidence and seeing failure states that may reveal story information.
- Split the goals if you want both: complete the narrative naturally, then return for trunks, the stash, solitaire, evidence accuracy and deaths.
There is no evidence that a particular dialogue choice is mandatory for a specific ending in the material available here. Treat route claims from unverified lists as suggestions to test, not as established facts.

Common problems and how to respond
“I missed an evidence item.”
Finish the scene if continuing is safe, note the location and revisit it on a replay. The achievement conditions reward cumulative discoveries and correct assignments, so a single missed object does not make the entire project impossible.
“I failed a timed prompt.”
That may create a failure state rather than a permanent dead end. Record what happened, then decide whether to continue for the story or reload/replay for a different result. The design intentionally uses counters and quick-time events to make discovery feel imminent.
“I reached an ending but did not unlock everything.”
That is expected for a branching game with optional objects and failure achievements. Compare your achievement list with the documented categories: evidence, stash, trunks, book, solitaire and specific deaths. Target the missing category on a separate run instead of replaying every scene blindly.

“A walkthrough gives a different choice than my game.”
Community guides are not official route specifications, and the available index does not expose their full instructions. Confirm that the guide names the same platform and game version, then use its sequence as a lead. Do not assume an unverified route is required for every player.
Do you need the other Pixel Pulps games first?
No. Steam describes Bahnsen Knights as a standalone experience. It is also the third Pixel Pulp in the first volume, alongside Mothmen 1966 and Varney Lake. Playing those earlier games may provide broader series context, but they are not presented as prerequisites for understanding Boulder’s investigation.
