Start with this diagnostic checklist
Before replacing anything, answer these questions:
- Which program shows the error: Baidu PC Faster, another application, or a leftover startup item?
- Does the message appear when Windows starts, when you launch a program, or during an uninstall?
- Is the affected application 32-bit or 64-bit?
- Is
BaiduStore.dlllocated inside a Baidu PC Faster folder, or somewhere unexpected? - Did antivirus software recently quarantine or remove a file?

Its reported internal description is “PC Faster Interface Plugin Manager,” and it is commonly loaded by the PC Faster program or by a leftover shortcut, task, or startup entry.
The safest solution is usually to repair the original Baidu PC Faster installation if you still need it. If you do not use PC Faster, uninstalling it and removing the leftover launcher is generally safer than downloading a replacement DLL.
What baidustore.dll does
BaiduStore.dll is associated with Baidu PC Faster, a third-party Windows application developed by Baidu Inc. File inventories report it as a 32-bit DLL, with reported releases including 3.7.2.41769 and 3.6.0.38508, each approximately 1.19 MB.
These version and size details come from historical file records rather than a current Baidu technical reference. They are useful for identification, but they should not be treated as proof that a copy found on your computer is authentic.

A historical PC Faster installation commonly placed the file below a path resembling:
C:Program Files (x86)Baidu SecurityPC Faster<version>BaiduStore.dll
The exact folder can differ between installations. The important point is that this DLL normally belongs beside the 32-bit application that loads it. It does not normally belong in either of these Windows folders:
C:WindowsSystem32
C:WindowsSysWOW64
On 64-bit Windows, System32 is primarily used for 64-bit system components, while SysWOW64 contains 32-bit Windows components. Neither folder is a general-purpose storage location for application DLLs.
What the error messages mean
You may see one of several variations:
- “The program can’t start because BaiduStore.dll is missing from your computer.”
- “This application failed to start because BaiduStore.dll was not found.”
- “Error loading BaiduStore.dll. The specified module could not be found.”
- “The code execution cannot proceed because BaiduStore.dll was not found.”
- “BaiduStore.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error.”
- “The procedure entry point … could not be located.”
- “Cannot register BaiduStore.dll.”
These messages are reported by public DLL indexes, not by an official Baidu error catalog. Their wording still provides useful clues.
A missing-file message usually means PC Faster or a remaining launcher expects the DLL but cannot find it. “The specified module could not be found” can also mean that BaiduStore.dll exists but another DLL it depends on is missing. “Not designed to run on Windows” often points to corruption, an incompatible replacement, the wrong architecture, or a file that is not the original binary.
Fix 1: Identify the program that is calling the DLL
First determine whether Baidu PC Faster is still installed.
- Press Windows key + I to open Settings.
- Select Apps.
- Select Installed apps in Windows 11, or Apps & features in Windows 10.
- Search for Baidu, PC Faster, or Baidu Security.
- If you find Baidu PC Faster, note whether you still intentionally use it.
You can also check the older uninstall list:
- Press Windows key + R.
- Type:

appwiz.cpl
- Press Enter.
- Look for Baidu PC Faster or a related Baidu entry.
If PC Faster is listed and the error appears when you launch it, the installation is the most likely source. If it is not listed but the popup appears at Windows sign-in, a leftover startup item, scheduled task, service, or shortcut may still be trying to start it.
To inspect the file location:
- Open File Explorer.
- Select This PC.
- In the search box, type:

- Wait for the search to finish.
- Right-click any result and select Open file location.
- Check whether the path belongs to a Baidu PC Faster directory.
A file inside an old Baidu PC Faster folder is consistent with the known association. A copy in a temporary folder, a random application directory, or a Windows system folder deserves additional scrutiny. Do not assume that a familiar filename is safe solely because it is a known historical file.
Fix 2: Repair or reinstall PC Faster if you still need it
Repair is the most direct fix when the error appears while using PC Faster and you have a legitimate original installer.

Start with the installed program:
- Open Settings with Windows key + I.
- Select Apps.
- Open Installed apps or Apps & features.
- Select Baidu PC Faster.
- Choose Advanced options if Windows provides that option.
- Select Repair or Reset if available.
- Restart Windows and test the program.
Many older desktop applications do not expose a Windows repair button. In that case, use the original Baidu PC Faster installer, if you still have one and can verify where it came from.
- Close PC Faster and any related Baidu windows.
- Right-click the original installer.
- Select Run as administrator.
- Choose Repair, Modify, or an equivalent repair option if offered.
- Complete the repair.
- Restart Windows.
- Launch PC Faster from its normal shortcut.
If repair is not offered:
- Back up any data you intentionally keep in the application.
- Uninstall PC Faster from Settings > Apps > Installed apps, or from Control Panel > Programs and Features.
- Restart Windows.
- Run the original installer as administrator.
- Install the same release family rather than mixing files from unrelated sources.
- Test the program again.
A successful repair restores the program without a missing-DLL popup and lets its main interface open normally. If the installer is unavailable, untrusted, or the program is no longer needed, do not search for a standalone copy of BaiduStore.dll just to preserve the installation.
PC Faster appears to be obsolete, and a current official Baidu download or support page could not be verified. That does not prove that every existing copy is malicious, but it does mean that reinstalling the program solely to restore an old DLL is usually a poor choice.

If you do not use Baidu PC Faster, remove the parent program instead of replacing its DLL.
- Open Settings with Windows key + I.
- Select Apps.
- Select Installed apps or Apps & features.
- Find Baidu PC Faster.
- Select the three-dot menu, then choose Uninstall.
- Follow the uninstall wizard.
- Restart Windows.
If it is not listed there:
- Press Windows key + R.
- Type:

- Press Enter.
- Select the Baidu entry.
- Choose Uninstall.
After restarting, check whether the popup returns. If it does, inspect startup items:
- Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
- Select Startup apps in Windows 11, or the Startup tab in Windows 10.
- Look for Baidu, PC Faster, or an entry whose command points to an old Baidu folder.
- Right-click the entry and choose Disable.
- Do not disable an item merely because its name is unfamiliar. Confirm its file path first.
Then check scheduled tasks:
- Open Start and search for Task Scheduler.
- Open it.
- Select Task Scheduler Library.
- Review tasks that mention Baidu or PC Faster.
- Double-click a task and inspect its Actions tab.
- If it clearly points to the removed Baidu installation, right-click the task and choose Delete.
Also inspect shortcuts that may be launching the removed program. Right-click the shortcut, select Properties, and check the Target field. Remove only shortcuts that clearly point to the old Baidu installation.
Do not manually delete broad registry sections or use a registry cleaner. If the popup persists after the startup and task checks, the remaining reference may be in a service or another application-specific launcher. The parent program should still be removed rather than replaced with a loose DLL.

Fix 4: Check antivirus quarantine before restoring anything
Antivirus software may have quarantined or deleted the file. This can happen because the installation is damaged, the file has been modified, or a security product has detected suspicious behavior.
To inspect Microsoft Defender history:
- Open Start.
- Search for Windows Security and open it.
- Select Virus & threat protection.
- Select Protection history.
- Review recent detections.
- Open any entry associated with Baidu, PC Faster, or the original DLL path.
- Note the detection name, original location, publisher information, and action taken.

Restore or allow the file only when all of the following are true:
- It came from a legitimate original PC Faster installation.
- The original path is consistent with that installation.
- The file has a valid signature or otherwise verified provenance.
- A current security scan does not identify the surrounding installation as dangerous.
- You still intentionally need PC Faster.
If any of those points is uncertain, leave the file quarantined and uninstall PC Faster. Do not dismiss a current antivirus detection simply because historical file records describe the filename as legitimate.
If the error disappears after an authorized restoration, run a full security scan and test the application. If the file is detected again, stop restoring it and remove the parent program.
Fix 5: Check whether the error names another dependency
Reinstalling Visual C++, DirectX, or .NET is not the primary repair for BaiduStore.dll because this file belongs to PC Faster. Consider a Microsoft runtime only when the exact message names another missing file, such as one beginning with MSVCP or VCRUNTIME.
If the message names a Visual C++ dependency:
- Write down the complete missing filename.
- Confirm which application displays the message.
- Open Microsoft’s latest supported Visual C++ Redistributable downloads.
- Download the architecture required by the calling application.
- Run the installer.
- Restart Windows.
- Test the application again.
A 32-bit application generally requires the x86 runtime even when Windows itself is 64-bit. Microsoft’s package architecture must match the application that needs it.
If the error still names BaiduStore.dll, return to the PC Faster repair or uninstall steps. Installing a runtime will not recreate a missing vendor DLL.
Fix 6: Repair Windows components only when Windows itself is damaged
System File Checker and DISM repair protected Windows components. They are not expected to restore a third-party Baidu PC Faster DLL, but they are reasonable when Windows is also showing broader corruption symptoms.
Install pending Windows updates first:
- Open Settings.
- Select Windows Update.
- Select Check for updates.
- Install available updates.
- Restart Windows.
Then run DISM and SFC from an elevated Command Prompt:
- Open Start.
- Type Command Prompt.
- Right-click Command Prompt.
- Select Run as administrator.
- Approve the User Account Control prompt.
- Run:

- Wait for it to finish.
- Then run:

sfc /scannow
- Wait until verification reaches 100 percent.
- Restart Windows.

Manually hunting through Windows components and repeating DISM or SFC without knowing what changed can be time-consuming. Fix 7: Do not update drivers unless the error actually identifies one
A driver problem is not an established direct cause of a missing BaiduStore.dll. Do not begin with Device Manager, generic driver updates, or unrelated DirectX advice unless the same failure also names a driver or a specific hardware component.
If Windows separately reports a device problem:
- Press Windows key + X.
- Select Device Manager.
- Expand the relevant category.
- Right-click the affected device.
- Select Properties.
- Read the Device status message under the General tab.
- Open the Driver tab.
- Use Update Driver only when a correct driver source is available.
- Restart Windows and retest.
You can also select Uninstall device only when you have a known-good replacement path or Windows can reinstall the device driver safely. Do not remove an unknown device merely because the Baidu DLL popup is present.

Why you should not use regsvr32
Do not run this as a routine fix:
regsvr32 BaiduStore.dll
regsvr32 is used to register DLLs that provide a registration entry point such as DllRegisterServer. It is not a general repair command for every DLL.
Microsoft documents the command’s registration purpose and syntax in its regsvr32 reference.
A registration attempt may produce an entry-point error, an architecture error, or another message without fixing the application’s missing dependency. A normal application DLL usually needs to be present in the application’s own directory and loaded with the correct companion files. It does not automatically need to be registered.

Why downloading a replacement DLL is unsafe
Do not download BaiduStore.dll from a random DLL archive and copy it into System32 or SysWOW64.
That approach can fail because the file may:
- Contain malware or unwanted modifications.
- Be the wrong version for the installed PC Faster release.
- Have the wrong 32-bit or 64-bit architecture.
- Require companion DLLs that are also missing.
- Be incompatible with the remaining application files.
- Hide the fact that PC Faster was only partially removed.
The safe sources are the original, trusted PC Faster installer or a repair process supplied by a verified software administrator. No current official Baidu PC Faster download was verified for this guide, so do not treat an archived executable or a third-party file page as an official source.

If the popup continues after removal
A recurring popup after uninstalling PC Faster almost always means something still references the old installation.
Check these locations in order:
- Task Manager > Startup apps
- Task Scheduler Library
- Services
Press Windows key + R, typeservices.msc, and inspect only clearly identified Baidu or PC Faster services. - Desktop and Start menu shortcuts
- The old Baidu installation folder
- The application named in the popup
For a service, open its properties and record the executable path before changing anything. Disable or remove only a service that clearly belongs to the uninstalled Baidu program. If the path points to an unrelated vendor, leave it alone.

If the file is found outside a Baidu or PC Faster directory, scan it before opening or restoring it. A filename alone cannot establish authenticity. Location, publisher information, signature, provenance, and current security results all matter.
System Restore is a fallback only when a suitable restore point predates the problem and you understand that restoring it can roll back other applications, drivers, and system settings.
