Use it on Connor Vinderblad’s body to raise him as a zombie; what happens next depends on whether Mayrina is present and whether you give her the wand, keep it, or destroy it.
Where to find Bitter Divorce
Bitter Divorce is on a stone slab in the Acrid Workshop, beneath Auntie Ethel’s hut, at approximately X: -417, Y: 604. The wand is part of the Act One quest Save Mayrina, which begins after you encounter Ethel and Mayrina’s brothers south of the Blighted Village. Follow the quest into Ethel’s lair and search the Workshop after dealing with her. The Save Mayrina quest page describes the route and outcomes; the Bitter Divorce item page identifies the wand and its effect.
A mushroom circle in the Workshop can take your party back outside, where Connor’s body is behind the teahouse. You need to reach his body to use the wand.
How to use the wand on Connor
Bitter Divorce is specifically tied to Connor: it raises Mayrina’s dead husband as a zombie. The cited item reference does not describe it as a general-purpose resurrection wand. Use it on Connor’s body to begin the choice about the wand and his fate.

What to do with Bitter Divorce
Your options lead to different narrative and gameplay outcomes. The references do not provide a numerical comparison of combat strength, duration, or summon reliability, so there is no established basis for calling one choice mechanically strongest.
| Choice | Outcome |
|---|---|
| Give the wand to Mayrina | Mayrina and Connor leave for Baldur’s Gate, where she intends to seek a cure. |
| Keep the wand while Mayrina is present | Bitter Divorce becomes Second Marriage, which can summon Connor as a zombie follower. |
| Destroy the wand | The resurrection route ends, and Mayrina is distraught. |
| Attack Connor | You can destroy the creature that was once Mayrina’s husband. The available outcomes depend on earlier dialogue and decisions. |
Why Mayrina’s presence and timing matter
If Mayrina is absent when you use the Act One wand, Connor can rise as hostile and the wand does not become Second Marriage. The item reference also describes a separate Act Three route: after curing Mayrina, she can provide a wand that raises Connor as an ally. These details mean the result is not determined by the wand alone; the quest state and Mayrina’s presence affect what happens.
