Yes—Baldur’s Gate 3 supports selected community-made mods on PS5 and Xbox through its in-game Mod Manager. But the exact “20 popular mods” set in the headline is not identified by Larian’s official sources, and a mod available on PC is not automatically available on console. Check the console listing in-game for the current catalog and compatibility.
How console mod support works
Larian’s console support is curated, not an open route to every PC mod. In its Community Update #29, Larian says a mod must be made and uploaded with the Baldur’s Gate 3 Toolkit, its author must request release on other platforms, and the mod must pass Larian’s internal review and testing to be eligible for console and Mac. Larian says those checks cover basic functionality, usability, and stability.
The Toolkit itself is PC-only, and technical limitations mean some PC mods cannot be released on console or Mac. Use the platform filter and listing in the game—not a PC mod page alone—to confirm whether a specific mod is available for your console.
Which Baldur’s Gate 3 mods have been featured for consoles?
Larian’s 2024 guide identified several examples as available on PC, Mac, and console. These are dated examples, not a complete or current catalog; check the in-game listing before planning a run around one.

The Xbox Wire list was presented as featured favorites and starter recommendations, not as a measured popularity ranking. It does not establish that these mods remain available today. Larian’s Community Update #29 reported more than 60 community-made mods ready to download when Patch 7 launched on consoles and said 69 had passed internal testing at that time. Those are 2024 launch-era figures, not the current catalog size or confirmation of a particular set of 20.
How to browse and install mods on PS5 or Xbox
- Open Baldur’s Gate 3 and select the in-game Mod Manager.
- Open the Browse tab and use its filters to find mods listed for your platform.
- Read each mod’s description before downloading. Check for required companion mods and any in-game setting changes.
- Download the mod you want, then confirm that it is enabled as needed for your game.
Larian says mods are reviewed and released in batches, so the catalog can change. It also notes that community creators—not Larian—make and maintain the mods; Larian cannot directly manage or fix them.

Console mod limit and stability
Larian’s November 21, 2024 Hotfix #29 note introduced a 100-mod limit for consoles after players reported slow loading and crashes with more than 100 mods. Larian recommended installing only mods you expect to keep and warned that disabling mods can cause issues depending on which ones were enabled. The limit described here is the one in that dated note; check later official updates for any changes.
Multiplayer and cross-platform saves
For multiplayer, every participant needs the same mods installed at the same versions. Larian’s Official Mod Support FAQ says the game may prompt players to download, enable, update, or downgrade mods to match the session.

If you plan to move a save between PC and console, Larian advises using only mods available on both platforms. A PC mod that is not available on console can prevent that setup from matching across platforms.

Larian’s official sources establish that console mods exist and provide historical examples and launch-era counts, but they do not identify a definitive set of 20 popular console mods or publish a popularity ranking in the cited material. Treat any list of 20 as a specific publisher’s selection unless it provides a date, platform, and ranking method. For a mod you want to use now, the in-game Mod Manager is the practical check for console availability, description, and dependencies.
