Are Patch 8 stress-test sign-ups still open?
The headline’s “now live” refers to Larian’s January 28, 2025 announcement. The available official announcement confirms that registration opened at that time, but does not establish whether the old form remains active as of October 8, 2026. Check Larian’s official Community Update #31 for the original announcement; do not treat it as confirmation that sign-ups are currently available.
Who was eligible for the original test?
Larian invited PC, PlayStation, and Xbox players to register interest. The FAQ specifically excluded GOG and Mac players from this particular stress test. That exclusion was test-specific: Larian separately said Mac cross-play would be available at Patch 8 launch, which did not make Mac players eligible for the test.
How did registration work by platform?

These are the original instructions, not verified current signup availability. Larian’s Community Update #31 FAQ put the access caveat plainly: “Access will be rolled out in waves, however, please note that registering your interest in the stress test does not guarantee access.” The announcement did not say places were assigned first come, first served.

What was the Patch 8 test intended to check?
Larian described the stress test as a way to find instability and gameplay issues ahead of release, with particular attention to cross-play. Its announcement listed cross-play, photo mode, 12 new subclasses, and Xbox Series S split-screen among Patch 8’s features. The 12-subclass figure is Larian’s own product information from 2025, not an independent count.

What should accepted players keep in mind?
- Save compatibility: Larian could not guarantee stress-test saves would remain compatible with the Patch 8 release.
- PlayStation region: Codes were region-specific, so the region associated with a code mattered for store access.
- Invitation timing: Access was to be distributed in waves, with no guarantee that a registration would be accepted.
