Hide Alfira’s body only if your Dark Urge character wants to conceal the murder and avoid the immediate next-morning confrontation. A successful DC 12 Stealth or Strength check prevents that scene, but it does not save Alfira or erase the murder. To keep Alfira alive, knock her unconscious in the Emerald Grove before the relevant long rest; the game then sends Quil Grootslang to camp instead.
What hiding Alfira’s body changes
This choice belongs to the Dark Urge origin’s scripted camp event, not to an ordinary custom character or another Origin. After you cross the bridge between the Emerald Grove and Moonhaven, also called the Blighted Village, the first relevant long rest triggers Alfira’s visit to camp and the murder scene. Her dialogue about staying at camp does not prevent what follows. The event can also play automatically when travelling to the Rosymorn Monastery Trail or the Shadow-Cursed Lands.
After the murder, hiding the body calls for a DC 12 Stealth or Strength check. Pass and your companions do not confront the Dark Urge the next morning; fail and the scene takes the same general confrontation route as leaving the body. If Alfira had not already given the character her lute, it is automatically added to the Dark Urge’s inventory after waking.
There is no special tool, item, or consumable required. This is a role-play choice with a check attached: conceal the evidence and skip the immediate confrontation, or leave it for the party to discover.

Compare the three choices after the murder

The gameplay reference lists a DC 18 Deception option after admitting the murder and a DC 7 check for blaming an animal. It lists DC 15 Deception for the wash-away-the-blood branch, but flags the values across branches as a likely developer mistake; do not assume that one branch is reliably easier than another.
What happens if the party confronts you
If the Dark Urge is held responsible, most companions become wary and say they will watch more closely. Astarion does not disapprove, and his greeting changes. The murder also awards the “Snipping the Chords” inspiration. These consequences follow from the murder and its confrontation; hiding the body avoids that morning’s scene, not the underlying story event.

How to keep Alfira alive instead
If you want Alfira to survive, act before the long rest that triggers the murder scene: knock her unconscious in the Emerald Grove. The event substitutes Quil Grootslang as the camp visitor and victim. Timing matters if other camp scenes are queued, and the game reference notes that in some circumstances Alfira may need to be knocked out again, so this is not guaranteed by a single action in every situation.
If she survives the intervening story, Alfira can appear at the celebration, at Last Light Inn in Act Two, and in Act Three. Her later outcomes can include:
