In the days before DRAGON BALL: Sparking! ZERO launched in October 2024, a Bandai Namco account appeared in a Twitch chat and asked a streamer identified as Edgar to stop broadcasting the game, according to a report published by ComicBook.com on October 5, 2024. The report describes a brief chat message—not a confirmed legal notice or formal takedown.
What the Bandai Namco account reportedly said
ComicBook.com reported that Edgar was streaming early gameplay of DRAGON BALL: Sparking! ZERO on Twitch while leaked footage was circulating ahead of the game’s early-access and standard release windows. The account attributed to Bandai Namco posted: “Edgar my guy stop doing this.”
The wording and account attribution come from ComicBook.com’s October 5, 2024 report: its account of the reported Sparking! ZERO leak stream. The article did not identify a specific employee behind the account.
What happened to the stream and recordings
By the time ComicBook.com published its story, the stream had been purged, along with recordings and message feeds, according to the article. It also said other accounts had shared similar screenshots from different perspectives. Because the original broadcast and chat feed were no longer available in that report, those details should be understood as ComicBook.com’s account of the incident rather than independently inspectable stream material.
#1 Best Overall
- Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero takes the legendary gameplay of the Budokai Tenkaichi series to a whole new level.
- Use the destructive power of the strongest fighters ever competed in Dragon Ball!
- Learn and master an incredible group of playable characters, each with individual skills, transformations and techniques.
What the report does—and does not—establish
- Reported: a Twitch streamer identified as Edgar broadcast the game, and a Bandai Namco account in chat asked him to stop.
- Not established by the report: a court filing, cease-and-desist letter, formal takedown demand, or the involvement of a named company employee.
- Time limit: the removal status described was the status at publication on October 5, 2024, not a current check of the streamer’s account.
Later context for the game
The 2024 incident took place before release; it should not be confused with later publisher updates or sales figures. Bandai Namco Entertainment America’s September 3, 2026 notice lists PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC as target platforms for version 3022.021.003.012.015: the publisher’s update notice. That later platform information does not establish which platform Edgar used.
Separately, Bandai Namco Holdings’ 2025 integrated report says the game sold over three million units in its first 24 hours after its October 2024 release, describing it as the fastest-selling title in the Dragon Ball game series at that time. This is a historical launch figure, not a current sales total: Bandai Namco Holdings Integrated Report 2025.
