Find the Remote Electrical Charge (R.E.C.) in the GCPD Evidence Room: go to the back of the Archive section, break the display glass and pick it up. If you left the building without it, return to the room later.
Where to find the Remote Electrical Charge
Enter the GCPD and locate the Evidence Room, which Gamepressure places in the southeastern part of the building. Inside, head to the back of the Archive section to find the Remote Electrical Charge prototype. Gamepressure’s GCPD walkthrough identifies the room’s location.

How to collect it
- Go to the GCPD Evidence Room.
- Walk to the back of the Archive section and find the prototype.
- Break the display glass and collect the gadget. No specific button prompt is established here, so use the game’s on-screen interaction or attack prompt.
The story brings you to the pickup before Batman leaves the GCPD. If you missed it, you can return to the Evidence Room and retrieve it later, as noted in Gamer Guides’ “Finding Gordon” walkthrough. Prima Games’ Chapter 8 guide also places the gadget in the Archive section.
What the Remote Electrical Charge does
The R.E.C. has two practical uses: quickfire it to shock and stop enemies, or use it on generators and other electrical equipment to activate or deactivate them. That makes it useful both in combat and when dealing with electrical devices during exploration.
