Battlefield 6’s first announced challenge overhaul lowered selected requirements, with more than 90 adjustments made live through a server-side update. The changes include cutting Assault squad Beacon deploys from 50 to 5 and Support revives from 200 to 60. They are the opening wave—not a completed, final overhaul—and the published examples are not a full changelog.
What changed in Battlefield 6 challenges?
Battlefield Studios said the first set made 90-plus adjustments to Challenges and Assignments, using gameplay data and player feedback to reduce time investment while preserving skill-driven progression. The figures below are before-and-after requirements stated by the studio, not measured reductions in completion time.

The Battlefield Team described the aim as “cutting down on time investment while maintaining a focus on skill-driven progression that rewards consistent play.” Its community update, reproduced in the Battlefield subreddit, also said the majority of mode-specific assignments were standardized to two wins per tier.
Weapon assignments
The studio said the listed weapon-type assignments were significantly simplified for assault rifles, SMGs, LMGs, shotguns, DMRs, snipers, and carbines. It did not provide a revised threshold for each weapon assignment in the cited announcement, so there is no complete weapon-by-weapon comparison to give here.

Are the changes live, and does old progress count?
The first set was delivered as a server-side update and was described as immediately available. The Battlefield Team said previously earned progress would be applied automatically when a player entered a match. If that progress met a newly lowered requirement, the corresponding challenge or assignment could unlock then.
If an eligible unlock does not appear immediately, entering a match is the specific refresh step described in the announcement. The update does not provide a separate manual migration process.

Is the entire challenge overhaul finished?
No. Battlefield Studios called this the first set in a larger plan spanning multiple server-side and client-side updates, and did not give a complete schedule. “Available now” refers to this initial set, not every future change or a guarantee that all challenge requirements have been revised.
An earlier EA community update dated October 24, 2025, said improvements would roll out over at least two updates and gave examples then under consideration: Assault 1 injector kills from 30 to 3, Engineer Expert 3 vehicle repair in a match from 6,000 to 1,000, and Deadeye 2 sniper headshot kills over 200 meters from 150 to 5, with the distance also expected to be reduced in a later update. What later updates say about challenge clarity
EA’s later Game Update 1.1.2.0 listed “Challenge and progression clarity improvements” intended to make requirements easier to understand and track. That establishes subsequent clarity work, but does not show that every tracking or unlock problem was resolved.
