EA’s October 24, 2025 community update outlined a broad set of Battlefield 6 changes ahead of Season 1—but it did not mean every item was already live. EA marked some adjustments as active at publication, while movement, weapon accuracy, visibility, challenges and Battle Royale tuning were described as upcoming or still under consideration. The later Update 1.1.1.0 notes set out the October 28 rollout and a fuller list of changes.
What was live when EA published the community update?
The October 24 community update said EA’s immediate focus was overall performance and combat. It described two adjustments as already live:
- Custom matchmaking search: Search results were adjusted to align more closely with selected map and mode preferences while retaining flexibility to help keep queue times reasonable.
- Vehicle spawning: A backend change was intended to reduce vehicle spawn failures. EA said failures had become less frequent, but some outliers remained. It also described a slightly positive effect on Breakthrough win rates and said more balance work was planned.
Those were the update’s live-at-publication items; they should not be confused with the forward-looking changes listed elsewhere in the post.
Which gameplay changes were still planned?
EA identified several areas for continued work. The community update described direction and goals, not a complete set of final values or a promise that every adjustment would arrive in one patch.

Movement and aiming animations
Planned movement refinements included smoother-feeling movement and less reticle movement during selected animations. The later patch notes described smoother landings and stance transitions, as well as reticle and sight improvements.
Weapon dispersion and range
EA said it was working to make weapon dispersion better reflect each weapon’s intended performance over range. It also identified bugs that affected dispersion after sprinting and when movement began. Burst-firing was still expected to be the most effective way to control a weapon, with each weapon performing best in its intended range.

Visibility and lighting
The planned visibility work covered exposure and brightness, dark interiors, glare outdoors and optic visibility. In the later Update 1.1.1.0 notes, EA listed exposure transitions and changes to reduce how long fog and smoke persisted.
Progression challenges
EA said challenge requirements would be made clearer and faster to complete. Three examples in the community post were proposed reductions under consideration—not confirmed final requirements:

EA said the challenge changes would roll out over at least two updates. It also said a later game update would reduce the 200m distance requirement for the Deadeye example; the community post did not give the revised distance.
What did EA preview for Battle Royale?
The Battle Royale plans covered several systems, but the community update did not publish exact tuning numbers. EA previewed:

The distinction matters: the community post was a preview with a mix of live changes, planned work and examples still being considered. The version-specific patch notes gave a more concrete account of Update 1.1.1.0. Neither historical announcement establishes Battlefield 6’s present-day version or online-service status.
What happened to Battlefield Labs?
EA said it was taking a brief hiatus from Battlefield Labs while prioritizing Season 1 content, and planned to share more when play sessions resumed.
