If your gun seems to stop working in Battlefield 6, there isn’t one confirmed bug that explains every report. EA has documented several distinct hit-registration and damage issues, while a narrow PC performance problem can produce similar symptoms. The useful first step is to identify whether shots deal no damage, damage displays inconsistently, accuracy feels different, or combat appears delayed.
Why is my gun doing no damage in Battlefield 6?
“No damage” can describe different problems: bullets may fail to register, displayed damage may be inconsistent, or poor simulation performance may make hits feel delayed. EA’s patch notes document specific defects, not a single universal cause. They also do not establish how common each issue is.
As of October 8, 2026, EA’s news index lists update 1.4.3.5, dated September 28, 2026, as the latest update. Its listed weapon fix concerns optic scope-edge thickness on PS5; it does not say that general damage registration was fixed.
Specific defects EA has fixed
- Update 1.4.3.0 corrected a damage reduction affecting bullets that passed through a player swimming at the surface and then hit water. It also corrected a damage calculation that could kill a soldier at roughly 99 damage.
- Update 1.1.3.0 addressed hit registration during extremely rapid aim adjustments, improved reliability when multiple players were close together, and fixed vehicle heavy-machine-gun fire that did not consistently damage soldiers.
These examples show that particular damage and registration defects have occurred and received fixes. They do not prove that one of those defects is responsible for a new report. See EA’s update notes for the changes attached to each version.

Why are my bullets not registering, or do I get hit markers but no damage?
Start by separating a live-match problem from a display or target issue in the Firing Range. EA confirmed inconsistent hit-registration and damage values at different distances in the Firing Range, as well as a separate issue with targets detecting bullet impacts. Those training-range reports should not automatically be treated as evidence of the same fault in live matches.
In a live match, note what happens immediately before the symptom: rapid aim adjustments, several players close together, firing from a vehicle, or shooting through a swimming player into water are among the specific situations covered by EA’s published fixes. A similar symptom outside those conditions may have another explanation.

Can PC performance make hits feel delayed?
It can, in a limited case. EA says some PC systems near the minimum CPU specifications may have high CPU load that prevents the game from maintaining a stable 60Hz simulation rate. EA associates that condition with rubberbanding, hit-registration problems, or latency-like symptoms even when the network connection is stable. This is not a diagnosis for every PC player or for console players.
Check the simulation rate
- Open Settings → Graphics → Advanced → Modify → Performance Overlay → Simple and watch the simulation-rate readout during play.
- If the simulation rate drops, try a frame-rate cap in Advanced Graphics to balance CPU usage, as EA suggests.
- Compare the symptom with the overlay: a falling simulation rate alongside rubberbanding or delayed-feeling combat makes the PC performance explanation more relevant, but does not by itself prove the cause.

Could the gun simply feel different after a balance change?
Yes. EA says it has adjusted recoil and body-damage multipliers while evolving close-range time-to-kill and precision at range. A change in recoil, damage feel, or effectiveness at a particular distance is not, by itself, proof that shots are failing to register. What should I do if my gun stops working?
- Check EA’s official Battlefield 6 update notes and install an available update. Fixes apply to specific issues and versions, so check the exact wording rather than assuming a new update addresses all damage reports.
- Record whether the problem occurs in a live match or only in the Firing Range, and whether it involves a particular weapon, attachment combination, movement, water, or vehicle seat.
- If you play on PC near minimum CPU specifications, check the performance overlay and try EA’s frame-rate-cap suggestion if the simulation rate is unstable.
- Use those details to compare your symptom with the specific situations in EA’s notes. The evidence supports checking updates and settings; it does not support buying a router, controller, headset, or CPU as a general fix.
