The SVK-8.6 is the high-impact, slower-firing option; the LMR27 favors faster follow-up shots; and the M39 EMR and SVDM sit between those roles. Treat the figures below as an undated community snapshot, not guaranteed current-patch values, and verify them in-game before choosing a build.
Which DMRs are in Battlefield 6?
EA lists six DMRs and describes the class as semiautomatic precision weapons intended for long-range use. Its role descriptions are useful for choosing a starting point, but they are not comparative gameplay tests.
| DMR | Unlock path listed by EA | EA’s described role |
|---|---|---|
| M39 EMR | Career Rank 4 | Versatile marksman rifle; chambered in 7.62×51 mm. |
| LMR27 | Career Rank 16 | Intermediate cartridge and rapid follow-up shots, balanced by relatively low damage. |
| SVK-8.6 | Career Rank 33 | High lethality balanced by a lower effective rate of fire; chambered in 8.6×70 mm. |
| SVDM | Deadeye 1 assignment | Modernized classic configurable for extreme mobility or distance eliminations. |
| GRT-CPS | Season 2 catch-up challenge; originally available in the Battle Pass | GRT-BC counterpart that trades damage for control and higher ammunition capacity. |
| VSSM | Season 4 Battle Pass | Integral suppressor and subsonic ammunition for covert play, with an aggressive setup also possible and tradeoffs. |
Unlock requirements and the roster can change with seasonal content. Check the in-game weapon menu for your current progression and availability. EA’s weapon-class guide provides the listed roles and unlock routes.
Battlefield 6 DMR stats: what the available numbers show
The following values come from a community-maintained stat page, not EA. The inspected page did not establish a reliable patch or version date, so these are comparison figures rather than confirmed current stats. Damage values are presented for chest hits; effective damage, shots to kill, armor interactions, and attachment effects may vary or change. Check the current in-game values before relying on a breakpoint.

| Weapon | Bullet velocity | Rate of fire | Magazine | ADS time | Chest damage by range | Listed shots to kill |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| M39 EMR | 1,000 m/s | 257 RPM | 15 rounds | 200 ms | 40 at 0–20 m; 38 beyond 20 m | 3 in both listed zones |
| LMR27 | 880 m/s | 450 RPM | 10 rounds | 250 ms | 27 at all ranges | 4 |
| SVK-8.6 | 900 m/s | 150 RPM | 10 rounds | 317 ms | 66 at 0–35 m; 50 beyond 35 m | 2 in both listed zones |
| SVDM | 640 m/s | 300 RPM | 10 rounds | 300 ms | 40 at all ranges | 3 |
These figures suggest distinct tradeoffs rather than one clear winner: the M39 EMR has the fastest listed bullet velocity and largest magazine among these four; the LMR27 has the highest listed rate of fire but lower listed chest damage; and the SVK-8.6 has the highest listed chest damage but the slowest listed rate of fire and ADS time. The SVDM’s EA-described mobility-or-distance configuration is a separate consideration from its stat snapshot. The page does not provide comparable values for the GRT-CPS or VSSM, so a numerical ranking across all six is not established. Source: community-maintained BF6 weapon stats.
Which DMR should you choose?
- Choose the M39 EMR if you want EA’s versatile option and value the snapshot’s 15-round magazine and high bullet velocity.
- Choose the LMR27 if you prefer a quicker follow-up rhythm. EA frames its design around rapid follow-up shots, with lower damage as the tradeoff.
- Choose the SVK-8.6 if your priority is high-impact shots and you are comfortable with a slower effective firing pace.
- Try the SVDM if you want to tune toward mobility or distance; decide which configuration suits your engagements rather than assuming one setup does both equally well.
- Consider the GRT-CPS if control and ammunition capacity matter more to you than damage, in line with EA’s description.
- Consider the VSSM if its integrated suppressor and subsonic ammunition suit a covert approach, while recognizing EA also describes an aggressive setup with tradeoffs.
These are role-based recommendations, not a tested performance ranking. Exact current damage and handling comparisons across all six are not established by the available figures.

How to build a DMR for your playstyle
There is no verified attachment-by-attachment “best build” in the cited material. Instead, treat these priorities as starting hypotheses, then compare the weapon in the firing range or a live match. Attachment names and exact effects are not specified here because the available sources do not establish them.
For faster follow-up shots
Start with the LMR27’s follow-up-shot role. Prioritize handling and a sight that lets you reacquire targets at your expected distances. Check whether the resulting setup remains controllable when you fire quickly.

For deliberate, high-impact shots
Build around the SVK-8.6’s high-lethality role. Favor a setup that helps you place each shot consistently, and test whether its slower pace fits the time you can safely spend aiming.
For a flexible general-purpose setup
Use the M39 EMR as a versatility starting point. Select magnification for the distances you actually expect, then assess whether the handling and magazine capacity work for your preferred position and pace.

For mobility or distance
With the SVDM, decide first whether you want the mobility-oriented or distance-oriented configuration EA describes. Test the resulting handling and sight picture at the ranges where you plan to use it instead of treating the two goals as interchangeable.
For the GRT-CPS or VSSM
For the GRT-CPS, evaluate whether its described control and ammunition-capacity tradeoff fits your approach. For the VSSM, compare its covert and aggressive approaches in your own loadout; the source describes the options but does not establish which attachments produce them or which is stronger.

- Requires Battlefield 6 (sold separately) or Battlefield REDSEC, all game updates, persistent internet connection & an EA account.
- Battlefield Coins can be used in the in-game Store to purchase Soldiers, Weapon Packages and a host of other cosmetic accessories and boosters. Can also be used to purchase the Battle Pass.
Practical DMR tactics
- Match magnification to likely engagements. Use a sight suited to the distances you expect, rather than assuming the highest magnification is always useful.
- Plan your follow-up shots. Avoid staying exposed while cycling shots. Move to cover or reposition when the engagement no longer favors a measured semiautomatic weapon.
- Test your actual build. Compare controllability, magazine capacity, target distance, and how quickly you can reacquire a target in the firing range or a live match.
- Check the mode and class loadout. EA says DMRs are available across classes in locked-weapon experiences, while locked-weapon modes otherwise restrict classes to assigned weapons. Confirm the selected mode’s rules and your class loadout before assuming a DMR is usable. See EA Help’s loadout guide.
What to verify before trusting a stat or build
- Check the current in-game weapon values after balance updates; the community snapshot has no reliable version date.
- Confirm damage breakpoints in the conditions that matter to you, including range and target protection. The listed chest-damage values alone do not establish every real-match shots-to-kill outcome.
- Recheck unlock routes and seasonal availability in the game, especially for Battle Pass and catch-up challenge weapons.
- Test attachment behavior on the current build rather than assuming a setup or role description proves a particular attachment effect.
EA announced Battlefield 6 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC; PlayStation lists a PS5 Standard Edition. See EA’s platform announcement and the PlayStation game listing.
