The article reported one player saying, “The closed weapon mode was clearly placed in a confusing manner.” The comment was not attributed to a named player, and it should be read as an individual reaction rather than a verified finding about the game’s design.

Windows Central’s account also included a player’s objection: “How can they claim they’re right when it’s not even a fair comparison between open and closed weapons?” That criticism concerns how the modes were positioned and compared; it does not by itself establish what data or rationale the developer used to prioritize playlists.

The playlist criticism belongs to the game’s 2025 launch period. EA’s official Battlefield 6 page lists a September 28, 2026 game update and October 2026 news, showing that the game has continued to receive updates since then. EA’s Battlefield 6 page

In a July 30, 2026 community update, EA said it was consolidating official matchmaking into fewer, higher-traffic playlists to reduce fragmented queues and bot-heavy lobbies. EA also said an improved Server Browser was planned for Season 5. Those are later matchmaking plans; they do not identify the alleged leak or confirm that Open Weapons is the feature at issue. EA also scheduled the Top Gun Update for August 18, 2026, describing Wake Island and air-combat content. That update is another example of post-launch game changes, but it does not resolve which feature the headline’s leak allegedly showed. EA’s August 6, 2026 update
