Why Battlefield 6’s PC figures differ
The PC numbers are storage requirements from two sources, not a measurement of one fixed installation. EA’s page labels 55 GB as estimated space required at launch for minimum specifications and lists 90 GB of SSD storage for recommended specifications. Steam lists 55 GB minimum and 80 GB recommended available space. The recommended figures therefore differ by source: 90 GB from EA versus 80 GB from Steam.
Do not treat either requirement as an exact current download size or a guarantee of the space a particular installation will occupy. Download size and installed size are not separately established by these figures.
What the console numbers do—and do not—tell you
The 68 GB PS5, 70 GB Xbox Series X, and 40 GB Xbox Series S figures come from a launch-period TechRadar report, not a current size listing verified by EA or the console stores. EA’s official console page does not state an install size. Its purchase terms also warn that mandatory updates may require additional storage, so leave room beyond a reported launch figure. Can you choose which PC components to install?
PC Gamer reported on August 2, 2025, that an EA representative said players would have a shared base package and could separately choose main components such as single-player and multiplayer. PC Gamer’s report.
That report also interpreted 55 GB as a base package and 80 GB as a full installation, but described that breakdown as an inference from the published figures, not an independently confirmed EA size breakdown. The component-selection statement concerns PC; the available evidence does not establish the same options for console versions.
