The Battlefield 6 Season 1 Free Trial ran from November 25 to December 2, 2025, and has ended. EA made it available through the free-to-play Battlefield REDSEC experience; the event offered selected multiplayer modes and maps, with progression carrying into the full game if players purchased it.

How did players access the trial?
EA directed players to download the free-to-play Battlefield REDSEC experience on their preferred platform. The announcement did not describe a separate trial download. EA Help lists REDSEC for PC through the EA app, Epic Games Store, or Steam, and for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Its support page says an EA account and a stable internet connection are required; the page is in Mexican Spanish and may change over time.

What did the trial include?
EA described three playlists across three maps, combining a casual multiplayer option with the recently released Eastwood and Blackwell Fields maps. The announcement named Siege of Cairo, Eastwood, and Blackwell Fields as the event’s maps.
Initiation Breakthrough
This introductory, 48-player-and-Bot mode used an attacker-versus-defender objective structure on Siege of Cairo.

EA said existing REDSEC progression—including Career Rank, Hardware Unlocks and Levels, and customization items—carried into the trial. Progress earned during the trial also carried into the full Battlefield 6 experience if a player purchased it. EA Help similarly describes progress, unlocks, and settings transferring when the full experience is purchased.

The announcement treated the full game as a purchase, not as part of the free trial. It did not say that trial access unlocked the paid campaign or Portal.
What else applied to the promotion?
The offer required REDSEC and all game updates. EA described it as limited time, with optional in-game purchases and conditions and restrictions. The announcement listed 2025 U.S. suggested prices of $69.99 for the Standard Edition and $99.99 for the Phantom Edition, while noting that offers could vary or change. Those were dated promotion-era figures, not current prices.
