When was the Battlefield 6 free week?
EA scheduled the Season 4 trial for August 18–25, 2026. It was over by October 4, 2026, and EA’s official event page marks it as ended. EA has not announced another free-trial date in the official updates cited here. The later September 30 update covers Season 5 but does not announce a new trial: EA Battlefield 6 news.
This was separate from an earlier trial that ran June 30–July 6, 2026. EA described that offer as five modes across four maps, so the dates and event matter when identifying which free week is being discussed. EA’s June update.
Which modes and maps were included?
EA’s August 14 update advertised six modes across four maps: Tsuru Reef, Wake Island, Cairo Bazaar, and Hagental Base. EA Game Update 1.4.2.0.

The accessible official REDSEC event page names five modes: Top Gun: Carrier Strike, Conquest, Breakthrough, Escalation, and Casual Breakthrough. That page does not expose a sixth mode name, so the complete named playlist cannot be confirmed from the cited official event listing. EA REDSEC event page.
How did access work?
Players entered the limited Battlefield 6 trial by downloading Battlefield REDSEC on their platform. EA said no purchase was required to start. The offer was a temporary selection of Battlefield 6 content, not permanent free access to the full game.

What happened when the trial ended?
EA required players to purchase Battlefield 6 to continue playing that game after the trial. REDSEC remained free to play, and EA said items unlocked during the trial were retained after it ended.
