No co-op campaign is described by EA: Battlefield 6’s story campaign is presented as a single-player experience. You can command squadmates during combat, but that is not the same as another person joining you. For play with friends, look to the game’s separate Multiplayer modes or Portal experiences.
Can you play the Battlefield 6 campaign with a friend?
EA identifies the story as a single-player campaign. Its campaign guide describes the missions and campaign features, while its official FAQ says: “Yes, Battlefield 6 will have a single-player campaign following a group of elite Marine raiders known as Dagger 1-3 as they fight to preserve global stability.” EA does not advertise a co-op story mode in these descriptions.
Do campaign squad commands mean co-op?
No. During campaign combat, you can direct Dagger 1-3 squadmates to engage enemies while you reposition or attack. EA describes this as commanding the rest of the squad; it does not describe another human player joining the story campaign.
What can you play with friends instead?
Battlefield 6 separates its authored campaign from its multiplayer offerings. EA lists modes such as Conquest, Breakthrough and Rush as multiplayer experiences, distinct from the single-player story. Choose a multiplayer mode based on the rules and objectives your group wants; these modes are not co-op campaign functionality. See EA’s multiplayer overview for the available mode descriptions.

Portal
Portal is a separate community experience for player-created modes and experiences, alongside Campaign and Multiplayer. It can offer other ways to play with people, but EA describes it separately from the authored story campaign. Details are in EA’s Portal overview.
Does the answer vary by platform?
EA lists Battlefield 6 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Its campaign descriptions present the story as single-player; the listed platform availability does not change that description. Check that any game edition you choose matches your platform. EA’s official game page provides platform information.
