Battlefield Studios’ July 31, 2025 multiplayer reveal set out Battlefield 6’s broad map settings, multiplayer modes and four returning classes. It did not publish a complete named map roster or an exhaustive list of weapons: its weapon details were framed around class roles. The game launched on October 10, 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC, and later live-service content should be distinguished from what the reveal announced.
What Battlefield Studios revealed about maps
EA described the game’s global settings as spanning “from Egypt, to Gibraltar and the streets of New York.” The reveal said maps would be divided into multiple hand-crafted combat zones tailored to particular modes, rather than treating every map as one uniform battlefield. Which multiplayer modes were announced?
The reveal named several returning modes alongside Escalation, a new mode built around capturing strategic control points.

What the reveal says about weapons and classes
Four classes return: Assault, Recon, Support and Engineer. EA described each as having class-specific gadgets, signature weapons and dedicated training. This is the supported level of weapon detail in the multiplayer reveal; it is not a complete named inventory of guns. The announcement does not establish weapon statistics, balance or comparative performance.
- Assault: A returning class with its own signature-weapon and gadget role; the reveal did not name a weapon list.
- Recon: A returning class with class-specific equipment and signature weapons; individual weapons were not catalogued in the reveal.
- Support: A returning class with dedicated training, gadgets and signature weapons.
- Engineer: A returning class with dedicated training, gadgets and signature weapons.
Beede also framed the reveal around the series’ established fundamentals: “We knew when we set out to create the future of Battlefield, we had to nail the fundamentals of what players have loved about the series for more than 20 years,” said Byron Beede, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Battlefield, in the July 31, 2025 EA announcement.

Combat features highlighted alongside the modes
The reveal called out the Kinesthetic Combat System, including two specific actions: Drag and Revive, and weapon mounting to reduce recoil. It also highlighted enhanced destruction, which EA said would let players reshape combat zones and create paths or flanking routes. These are feature descriptions from the announcement, not independent claims about how they perform in play.
Portal also returns as a creative toolset for making player-created Community Experiences. EA’s July 24, 2025 reveal-trailer announcement used the promotional line “the deadliest weapon is your squad”; it is not a named-person quotation. EA’s reveal-trailer announcement

Named maps from the beta are a separate snapshot
EA’s August 4, 2025 Open Beta guide named Siege of Cairo, Liberation Peak and Iberian Offensive among the beta maps. Those names offer concrete examples of maps and their mode-specific combat zones, but they identify beta offerings—not a definitive or complete launch roster, nor the current map lineup. How to read the reveal in the context of the live game
The multiplayer reveal is a dated account of what EA announced on July 31, 2025, not a catalogue of everything subsequently added. Battlefield 6 launched on October 10, 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. In an October 1, 2026 update, EA said the game had completed its first year and received four seasons of content.
