Battlefield 6 Open Beta Week 2 ran in August 2025 and is over. Its limited-time challenges and rewards can no longer be earned. The week added the infantry-only Empire State map and brought Rush and Squad Deathmatch into the beta’s rotating mode offerings; the daily playlists did not include every mode throughout the weekend.
What was the Empire State map in Battlefield 6?
Empire State was the new Week 2 beta map, set in Brooklyn, New York. EA described it as “an infantry-only map featuring explosive engagements spanning alleys, rooftops, and the iconic streets of Brooklyn, New York.” The Week 2 guide also said players could play maps from Weekend 1 alongside Empire State. What modes were in Battlefield 6 beta weekend 2?
Rush and Squad Deathmatch were among the modes added to the beta’s Week 2 offering. They played very differently: Rush focused on an attacking team’s objective, while Squad Deathmatch was a four-squad elimination race.
Rush
One side attacked a sequence of M-COM communication systems while the other defended them. Attackers had to plant explosives and prevent defenders from disarming them.

Four squads fought to reach the elimination target first. It was a direct squad-versus-squad contest rather than an M-COM objective.

EA said the daily rotations were intended for testing and feedback and were not planned for launch. In the beta, Custom Search let players select preferred map and mode combinations; as the Battlefield Studios Team put it, “This feature allows you to choose your favorite combinations of maps and modes.” Matchmaking prioritized that combination when it was available. Custom Search applied to Open Weapon playlists and was not a Server Browser.

These were beta rewards, not currently available challenges. EA’s Open Beta rewards support page says they had to be earned during the beta and could not be earned afterward.

EA generally labeled the second public beta period August 14–17, 2025. Its detailed announcement gave the precise UTC schedule: it opened August 14 at 08:00 UTC and closed August 18 at 08:00 UTC. That means the event’s listed weekend dates and its actual UTC cutoff span different calendar labels. The announcement also listed PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, or the EA app as supported platforms; Secure Boot was required to play on PC.
