When did Battlefield 6 update 1.2.2.0 go live?
EA’s March 13, 2026 notes scheduled the update download for March 17 at 09:00 UTC, with Season 2: Nightfall content becoming available at 12:00 UTC. Those were EA’s announced times; they distinguish the patch download from the content rollout and are not an independent confirmation of live-service status. What did Nightfall add to Battlefield 6?
Hagental Base and the Darkness modifier
EA described Hagental Base as an underground, close-quarters map focused on infantry squad tactics. Its tunnels, destructible walls, and breakable ceilings were designed to create opportunities for flanking and ambushes. These are EA’s descriptions of the map’s design, rather than a hands-on assessment.
The Nightfall playlist put Team Deathmatch, Squad Deathmatch, and Domination on Hagental Base under a Darkness modifier that shut off most lights. EA pointed players to Night Vision Goggles and environmental awareness as key parts of navigating the dark.

Gauntlet: Nightfall
EA also announced Gauntlet: Nightfall, an elimination-style Gauntlet experience with underground rounds. Flashlights and Night Vision Goggles were highlighted for dealing with the low-visibility setting.
Defense Testing Complex 3
For REDSEC, the notes introduced Defense Testing Complex 3, an underground sector in Fort Lyndon. Its tunnels served as routes and close-quarters combat spaces, with opportunities for higher-rarity loot.

Which weapons and vehicles were added?

Additional weapon items included a CZ3A1 hybrid sight, a 50 mW violet laser, and Taclight attachments for hip-fired rifles, aimed rifles, and aimed pistols.
What else changed in the update?
EA’s major-update summary covered vehicle handling and survivability, portable mortar and gadget changes, AI pathfinding and vehicle use, map and mode fixes, Battle Pass progression reliability, interface and HUD improvements, audio, and squad features. - Light transport vehicles could be righted using steering, addressing “deturtling.” The notes also mentioned helicopter landing stability, camera behavior, and tank braking.
- Anti-Tank Mines despawned 180 seconds after their owner was eliminated, and each player was limited to six active mines.
- Portable Mortar deployment was expanded to HQ areas.
- The UH-79 received 20% more health across multiplayer modes, excluding Battle Royale. This is EA’s patch specification, not an independently measured performance result.
Which additions were limited-time or later events?
Red Bull Supermoto was announced as a later Season 2 REDSEC event, not as content live at the initial update rollout. EA described a race format with eight players in three knockout rounds, followed by four remaining racers competing for in-game rewards. The event’s availability window is historical; the update notes do not establish that it remains playable.
EA also announced a free trial running March 17–24, 2026, listing four maps and six modes. That trial period has passed, so it should not be read as a current offer.

Is update 1.2.2.0 still the latest Battlefield 6 update?
No. Update 1.2.2.0 belongs to the March 2026 Season 2: Nightfall rollout. In an EA community update dated September 30, 2026, the publisher was previewing Season 5 as forthcoming, with three maps planned across the season, along with weapons, REDSEC updates, and gameplay changes.
