Battlefield 6 Open Beta Weekend 2 ran August 14–18, 2025, and has ended. It added Custom Search matchmaking preferences, the infantry-only Empire State map, Rush and Squad Deathmatch, rotating playlists, and three challenges with rewards for the full game. Players looking to play now need the released game, not the closed beta.
What Custom Search changed
EA introduced Custom Search after player feedback, giving beta players a way to select preferred map-and-mode combinations. For example, a player could choose Conquest on Siege of Cairo, and matchmaking would prioritize that pairing when it was available. It was a preference, not a guarantee of a particular match.
Custom Search was also not a Server Browser. EA said a Server Browser was not being tested during Weekend 2, and Custom Search applied to the beta’s Open Weapon playlists. These details are from EA’s August 13, 2025 playlist announcement.
Empire State was the new map
Weekend 2 kept the maps from the first weekend and added Empire State, an infantry-only map set in Brooklyn, New York. Its combat areas included alleys, rooftops and city streets. EA’s Open Beta guide describes the map and the weekend’s modes.
