Battlefield 6’s preload window is over: the game launched on October 10, 2025. Preloading was reported to have gone live on October 3, ahead of EA’s simultaneous worldwide launch at 08:00 PT / 17:00 CET. The preload date and platform package sizes below are historical report figures, not current download or installed-size guarantees.
When did the Battlefield 6 preload start?
MP1st reported that preloading went live on PS5, Xbox, and PC on October 3, 2025. EA’s launch-preparation article confirmed the worldwide launch time, but did not state the preload start date; October 3 should therefore be treated as reported timing, not an EA-announced schedule. MP1st’s launch-period report has the platform details.
When did Battlefield 6 launch?
EA set the global launch for October 10, 2025 at 08:00 PT / 17:00 CET, with regions accessing the game simultaneously. That date has passed; this is the launch schedule, not an upcoming preload time. EA’s launch-preparation article gives the official timing.
How large was Battlefield 6 at launch?
Reported preload package sizes are historical storefront figures. Download packages, installed storage use, and later update requirements are not interchangeable: patches can change the space needed, and EA’s store terms note that mandatory updates may require additional storage. The following platform listings were reported by MP1st during launch preparations, not verified current post-update sizes. See MP1st’s platform-by-platform figures before quoting an exact console or PC package size.

PC storage estimates
EA estimated 55 GB of disk space for the PC minimum configuration. Its launch-preparation article described this as covering the single-player campaign or multiplayer without the high-resolution texture pack. EA’s PC requirements and storage estimate are a launch-period estimate, not a current installed-size measurement.
PC Gamer reported that the Steam listing showed 55 GB for minimum specifications and 80 GB for recommended specifications. Those figures can differ depending on which components are installed: EA said players could choose components such as single-player and multiplayer, alongside a shared base package. PC Gamer’s report on the Steam listing and its report quoting EA’s component-install explanation provide that context.

What to know before installing
- Check the live platform listing. The launch-period figures do not establish current post-update sizes. The current install screen is the practical source for the download and space requirement shown to your account.
- Leave room for updates. EA said a pre-launch update was required to play, and players without automatic updates enabled had to download the patch manually. EA’s store terms also warn that mandatory updates can require extra storage. EA’s update instructions explain the pre-launch patch; EA’s store terms cover additional storage for required updates.
- On PC, choose components deliberately. The campaign, multiplayer, and other main components could be selected separately, so installation choices affect the footprint. PC Gamer’s report quoting EA describes the shared base package and component selection.
