EA’s reveal places the campaign in 2027. In its fictional premise, an assassination precedes the departure of major European countries from NATO, while a private military corporation called PAX ARMATA tries to fill the resulting power vacuum. This is the game’s story setup, not a description of real-world events.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What did EA say about launch and post-launch content?
EA called Battlefield 6 “the biggest launch in franchise history” in its October 10, 2025 release. That is EA’s qualitative company claim; the cited passage does not provide a unit-sales figure. The same release gives franchise-wide background figures of 100 million players and 5 billion hours played, without stating a measurement date or methodology. Those figures refer to the Battlefield franchise overall, not specifically to Battlefield 6.
