For better FPS in Battlefield 6 on PC, Electronic Arts recommends lowering seven graphics settings—not a specific pair—to Low. Start with Undergrowth Quality, Effects Quality, Volumetric Quality, Lighting Quality, Local Light & Shadow Quality, Sun Shadow Quality, and Post Process Quality. EA provides no per-setting FPS measurements, so change them and compare performance and image quality on your own PC.

Which Battlefield 6 settings should you lower?

EA’s guidance is a general starting point, not a ranked list of the two most effective options. The seven settings it identifies as less noticeable are:

  • Undergrowth Quality
  • Effects Quality
  • Volumetric Quality
  • Lighting Quality
  • Local Light & Shadow Quality
  • Sun Shadow Quality
  • Post Process Quality

Set these to Low first, then check whether frame-rate consistency improves enough without making the image too soft or visually distracting. EA says lowering graphics settings helps a PC maintain FPS, but does not publish gains for individual options or promise a particular result. Its guidance is to balance performance against image quality on your own hardware. EA’s Battlefield 6 PC settings guide

How to change the settings

  1. Open the Settings cog in Battlefield 6.
  2. Select Graphics.
  3. Choose Modify beside Graphics.
  4. Lower the seven settings listed above to Low, apply the changes, and compare how the game feels and looks in play.

If those changes are not enough, EA suggests trying everything at Low. That is a more aggressive performance-first option, not a universal best setting for visual quality.

Optional changes for visibility, not a proven FPS boost

EA notes that some players find enemies easier to spot indoors or through water with Screen Space Reflections turned off. Treat this as an optional visibility preference; EA does not identify it as one of its seven graphics settings to lower for FPS.

For a clearer competitive image, EA separately suggests reducing World Motion Blur, Weapon Motion Blur, and Camera Shake Amount, and turning off Chromatic Aberration, Vignette, and Film Grain. These are clarity and comfort adjustments, not a measured FPS-optimization pair.

Check your PC and supported graphics features

EA lists 16 GB of memory for both minimum and recommended PC specifications. Its recommended graphics cards are NVIDIA RTX 3060 Ti, AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT, or Intel Arc B580; its minimum GPU list is NVIDIA RTX 2060, AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT 6GB, or Intel Arc A380. These are EA’s hardware requirements, not benchmark results or a guarantee of a particular frame rate. Consult EA’s current PC system requirements for the full specification list.

EA also lists PC support for DLSS features, NVIDIA Reflex, Intel XeSS, and AMD FSR. Availability and options can depend on hardware and game updates; check the current in-game menus rather than assuming one configuration is best for every PC. EA’s PC features page
