Battlefield 6 does not have a verified universal legend for every symbol that can appear in the upper-left corner. EA documents several HUD icon categories and a few specific cues, but a symbol’s meaning depends on where it appears, the active mode and your HUD settings. Use the examples below as a starting point; for an unfamiliar icon, check the active screen or share a screenshot with the game mode and platform.
What Battlefield 6’s HUD icon categories tell you
EA identifies objective, friendly, squadmate, enemy, neutral and ping icons as separate gameplay icon categories. You can adjust their intensity, scale and opacity, but EA’s settings information does not provide a complete glyph-by-glyph or color-by-color key for the top-left of the screen. Treat an icon’s location or color alone as insufficient to identify it.

Check HUD settings if icons are hard to see
EA says general and advanced HUD options can toggle interface elements and adjust their opacity or size. Gameplay icon settings also include intensity, scale and opacity controls by category. If an icon is missing, faint or cluttered, inspect those options before assuming its meaning has changed.
EA’s accessibility page describes the US English versions for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Menu labels and availability may differ on other platforms or in other regions, so check the settings in your live game. EA Battlefield 6 accessibility options

Why a symbol may differ by mode or update
HUD behavior is not fixed across every mode or game state. Update 1.1.2.0 documents mode-specific Strikepoint player counts, as well as changes to Assault Training Path icons and squadmate health-bar color. Update 1.4.3.5 documents a minimap change for the downed state. These examples show why a cue should be interpreted in context rather than treated as a universal top-left legend.

- Note the screen and state: are you playing normally, downed, looking at the map, or choosing a redeploy point?
- Check the mode: some modes have their own top-of-screen displays or interface behavior.
- Review HUD settings: confirm relevant elements and icon categories are enabled, and inspect their size, intensity and opacity.
- Capture the symbol: include enough of the screen to show nearby labels or map elements, then note your platform and game version.
- Use official guidance for technical symptoms: an unfamiliar icon by itself does not establish a PC fault. If interface elements are missing or malfunctioning, document the platform, mode, version and settings before troubleshooting.
EA’s public guidance cited here does not publish a complete legend for every symbol in the top-left position. A screenshot alongside the mode and platform is the most useful way to narrow down an icon that is not among the documented examples.
