1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsAs of October 4, 2026, there is no evidence-based ordered list of Battlefield 6’s strongest guns to publish. Season 4: Tidal Strike is the current season in the latest reviewed official notes, while EA’s Season 5 weapon changes are previews—not live balance rules or a final gun ranking. This guide separates what is live from what EA has announced for REDSEC, and explains why neither supports calling one weapon the season’s best.
Why this is not a ranked weapon tier list
A meaningful tier list needs comparable results: weapons tested under the same mode, patch, range, target conditions, and configuration. The official material available as of October 4 does not provide those comparisons, and no dated comparative tests are available here. It does not establish a cross-mode order, pick rate, win rate, time-to-kill ranking, or single strongest gun.
That distinction matters because EA’s most specific upcoming weapon changes concern armored targets in REDSEC. They are not universal damage rules for standard multiplayer, and they do not say how weapons will rank after the changes.
What is current as of October 4, 2026
EA says Update 1.4.3.0 and Season 4: Tidal Strike went live on September 15, 2026. The Deep Six Collection Event was scheduled to run from September 15 through October 12. EA’s September 30 community update and October 1 Season 5 preview describe Season 5 as approaching; they do not establish that its changes are live as of October 4.

Update 1.4.3.0 includes weapon-stat display corrections for the EF88, BROD, and VSSM, weapon and optic readability improvements, and an option affecting how optic zoom uses field of view. These are update and presentation details, not comparative evidence that any of those guns is stronger.
EA’s announced Season 5 REDSEC changes
In its October 1 preview, EA described changes that would add one bullet to eliminate armored targets in specified REDSEC conditions. The table summarizes the preview; it is not a list of live Season 4 stats or a ranking of individual guns.
| Weapon category | Announced REDSEC armored-target condition | Previewed change |
|---|---|---|
| 10mm PDWs and 9mm PDWs | Against armor beyond 9 meters | One additional bullet to kill |
| .300BLK carbines; 7.62x39mm PDWs, carbines, and assault rifles | Against armor within 31 meters | One additional bullet to kill |
| 5.56x45mm assault rifles and LMGs; 5.45x39mm assault rifles and LMGs | Against armor beyond 46 meters | One additional bullet to kill |
| 7.62mm DMRs | Against armor beyond 21 meters | One additional bullet to kill; the preview also says these DMRs will no longer deal improved headshot damage to downed enemies |
The thresholds are part of the announced armored-target rules. They should not be generalized to unarmored opponents, other modes, or every range. EA’s September 30 community update also described the additional-bullet changes as applying to armored Battle Royale targets and said the full weapon-by-weapon breakdown would be in the Season 5 notes.

Weapons EA names in its meta preview
EA names the KTS100 Mk8, SCW-10, SVDM, SG553R, and KV9 when previewing REDSEC meta changes. It also identifies further DMR tuning for the M39 EMR and SVDM. The preview does not assign these weapons a final rank or specify a complete weapon-by-weapon outcome, so their mention is not proof that they are the best—or the worst—guns.

Until final Season 5 notes and like-for-like gameplay comparisons are available, treat weapon choice as mode- and situation-dependent rather than following an unsupported S-to-D ranking. For REDSEC, the announced distance bands make armor and engagement range relevant to interpreting the coming changes. For standard multiplayer, these REDSEC preview rules do not identify a strongest weapon.
EA’s September 30 community update describes its intent as creating clearer class roles, improving infantry-versus-vehicle balance, and refining performance across engagement ranges. That is a statement of design goals, not evidence that a particular gun wins those comparisons.

What a defensible tier list would need
A useful ranking should state its boundaries and compare like with like. At minimum, a tested list should record:
- Patch and date: identify the live update so readers know which balance state the results describe.
- Mode and rules: keep REDSEC armor results separate from standard multiplayer and other modes.
- Target and range: distinguish armored, unarmored, and downed targets where relevant, and test intended close-, mid-, and long-range use.
- Configuration and setup: report attachments, ammunition, platform, and input method rather than presenting one build-specific result as universal.
- Comparable outcomes: use reproducible damage, shots-to-kill, or time-to-kill results where available, alongside repeated assessments of controllability and consistency.
EA says complete weapon-by-weapon details will appear in the Season 5 update notes, which it described as available the day before that season goes live. Those notes can clarify intended balance changes; they still would not, by themselves, supply comparative player-performance tests.
