One free scan finds every outdated or missing driver and matches the right update for your exact hardware.Free scan · exact hardware matchThere is no official, apples-to-apples XP-per-hour test proving that Battlefield 6 or Call of Duty is universally faster. The practical answer depends on what you are leveling. Using the currently documented Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 system, Call of Duty has the broader account-XP funnel: Multiplayer, Co-Op Campaign, Zombies, Dead Ops Arcade 4 and Warzone all award Level XP. Battlefield 6 supports full progression in its multiplayer experiences and verified Portal experiences, and its Season 2 changes added passive hardware XP and increased completed-match career rewards. Choose Call of Duty when you want flexible account-rank progress across several modes; choose Battlefield 6 when your priority is focused weapon or vehicle progression and you regularly finish matches.
What “levels up faster” actually means
Players often use “leveling” to describe three different grinds. Your account or career level measures overall player progression. A weapon level unlocks attachments or other equipment for one weapon. Vehicle or other hardware progression tracks a specific piece of Battlefield equipment. Those tracks do not advance in identical ways, so a game can feel faster for one goal and slower for another.

This comparison uses the current documented Call of Duty model represented by Black Ops 7, not every historical Call of Duty release. Activision’s 2025 support documentation describes a Level 1–55 base ladder, ten Prestiges and a Prestige Master path that reaches Level 1,000. Electronic Arts’ 2026 Battlefield 6 progression information describes career and hardware tracks, with additional Season 2 rewards for passive hardware use and completed matches.
Neither publisher publishes a controlled test that holds mode, match length, player performance, objective score, boosters, party size and patch version constant. Any claim such as “one level every X minutes” would therefore be an anecdote, not an official comparison.

How Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 progression works
One Level-XP pool across five documented modes
The official Black Ops 7 site says players gain Level XP in Multiplayer, Co-Op Campaign, Zombies, Dead Ops Arcade 4 and Call of Duty: Warzone. Activision Support similarly states that gameplay across Co-Op Campaign, Multiplayer, Zombies and Warzone earns XP toward the 55-level progression containing weapons, equipment, Scorestreaks, Operators and more. Dead Ops Arcade 4 is included in the official site’s Level-XP list.
That breadth is Call of Duty’s clearest speed advantage for account leveling. If a player performs poorly in competitive Multiplayer, they can move to Zombies or Co-Op Campaign without abandoning account progress. A Warzone session can contribute to the same Level-XP objective, as can Dead Ops Arcade 4. The system does not require the player to remain in one playlist to keep the account grind moving.
The 55-level base ladder and Prestige
Activision documents a base progression from Level 1 to Level 55. After reaching the top of that ladder, players can enter ten Prestige cycles. Completing those cycles opens Prestige Master progression, which can continue as high as Level 1,000. The scale creates a much larger visible account journey than a single 55-level pass.
The same support article says Black Ops 7 offers more than 680 Calling Cards tied to challenges. Calling Cards are not a promise of faster XP, but they show how challenges and account milestones sit alongside the level ladder. A player who cares about a long-term rank chase has more documented account milestones to pursue than the base level number alone suggests.
What this means for a mixed-mode player
Call of Duty is usually the more convenient choice when “leveling faster” means getting the account rank moving in as many situations as possible. A Zombies player, a campaign co-op group and a Warzone player can all work toward the same Level-XP destination. Convenience is not the same as a higher rate: a long session with few completed objectives may produce less XP than a shorter, stronger session in another mode.
How Battlefield 6 progression works
Career progression and hardware progression are separate goals
EA describes Battlefield 6 progression as a combination of career progress and hardware progress. Hardware covers the weapons and vehicles you use. The practical distinction matters: a player can be satisfied with account career gains while still needing additional time on a particular rifle or vehicle to unlock its hardware path.

EA’s progression article states that using a weapon or vehicle during a Battlefield 6 or REDSEC match grants a small passive amount of hardware XP. That passive award is designed to let the item progress while it is being used, rather than requiring every point to come from a special challenge. The source does not publish a universal hardware-XP-per-minute value, so it cannot be converted into a reliable speed claim against Call of Duty.
Full progression in multiplayer and verified Portal
EA says all Battlefield 6 multiplayer experiences and verified Portal experiences provide full progression XP, including progression for challenges, badges and accolades. The EA FAQ describes Verified Community Experiences as granting the same categories of experience available in official Battlefield 6 modes, including those challenge, badge and accolade categories.

“Verified” is the important qualifier. The documentation establishes full progression for verified experiences; it does not say that every player-created or unverified experience has identical rewards. Check the experience’s verification status before using it as your main progression route.
Season 2 changes reward finishing the match
EA’s 2026 Season 2 progression update made three relevant changes. It added passive hardware XP, increased end-of-match career XP for completed matches, and revised REDSEC victory and time-played XP. The update therefore strengthens two habits that matter to a focused grind: keep the target weapon or vehicle in use, and finish the match instead of leaving early.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems“Revised” does not necessarily mean every REDSEC situation became faster. It means the victory and time-played components were changed; the exact reward depends on the current rules and the result of the match. Treat Season 2 figures as patch-specific rather than permanent guarantees.
Which game is faster for each goal?
Fastest-feeling account or career rank
Call of Duty has the stronger documented case for flexibility. Five named modes feed Level XP in Black Ops 7, so a player can choose the activity that best fits their schedule and skill without changing the account target. This is especially useful for someone who alternates between social, cooperative and competitive play.
Battlefield 6 can still feel efficient when matches are completed consistently, because Season 2 increased completed-match career XP. However, the available EA documentation does not state a level ladder or a rate that would let anyone calculate a universal Battlefield minutes-per-level figure. The honest verdict is “Call of Duty is usually more flexible for account leveling,” not “Call of Duty is proven to award more XP every minute.”
Fastest weapon or vehicle progression
Battlefield 6 has the clearer documented focus for this goal. Hardware XP is tied to using the weapon or vehicle in a match, and Season 2 added a passive hardware component. A player who keeps the target item equipped and finishes matches has a direct, repeatable path toward that item’s progression.

Call of Duty also has weapon and equipment unlocks within its Level 1–55 progression, but the cited documentation does not provide a single weapon-XP rate or a controlled comparison with Battlefield hardware XP. If your question is specifically “What is the fastest way to level weapons in BF6?”, the evidence-supported answer is to use the target weapon throughout completed multiplayer or verified Portal matches and combine that use with the available challenges, badges and accolades.
Fastest route for a player who changes modes
Call of Duty is the better fit when variety is part of the plan. Co-Op Campaign, Zombies, Dead Ops Arcade 4, Multiplayer and Warzone all contribute Level XP, so a player can change modes to avoid fatigue or match queues while retaining the same account objective.
Battlefield 6 is the better fit when the player wants one battlefield role, weapon family or vehicle to improve over a run of completed matches. The progression model rewards sustained hardware use rather than constant switching to unrelated activities.

Fastest long-term prestige chase
Only Black Ops 7 has a documented repeatable Prestige structure in the supplied material: ten Prestiges after Level 55, then Prestige Master progression to Level 1,000. That makes Call of Duty the clear choice for a player whose definition of leveling includes a numbered Prestige journey. Battlefield 6’s cited documents describe career and hardware progress but do not establish an equivalent Prestige ceiling.
Fastest practical progression path in Call of Duty
- Define the target. Decide whether you want the account level, a particular unlock in the Level 1–55 ladder, or the long Prestige Master journey. Do not judge a Zombies session by weapon-unlock progress if your real goal is account rank.
- Choose the mode in which you can complete objectives reliably. Multiplayer, Co-Op Campaign, Zombies, Dead Ops Arcade 4 and Warzone all feed Level XP according to the official Black Ops 7 description. The best personal route is the mode where you can sustain useful play rather than simply the mode with the shortest match.
- Use mode switching as a tool, not a reset. Move between the documented XP-earning modes when queues, fatigue or a group’s availability changes. The unified Level-XP model means the account target remains active.
- Finish sessions with a clear objective. Track the level before and after a block of completed activities. Record the mode, elapsed time and whether the session included a win, loss, cooperative completion or an interrupted match.
- Recheck the rules after updates. Seasonal tuning, playlist changes and future patches can alter practical speed even when the overall five-mode structure remains.
Fastest practical progression path in Battlefield 6
- Pick the hardware target first. Select the weapon or vehicle you actually want to level. Keeping one target in use makes the passive hardware-XP change meaningful; rotating constantly makes your progress harder to see.
- Play an official multiplayer experience or a verified Portal experience. EA says these provide the full progression categories, including challenges, badges and accolades. Confirm that a community experience is verified before relying on it.
- Keep the target item active during the match. EA’s documented passive award comes from using a weapon or vehicle during a Battlefield 6 or REDSEC match. The source does not state the exact amount, so measure your own progress rather than assuming a fixed rate.
- Finish the match. Season 2 increased end-of-match career XP for completed matches. Leaving early can remove the very completion reward that makes a session efficient.
- Play for the relevant REDSEC result when that is your chosen mode. Season 2 revised REDSEC victory and time-played XP. Winning and staying active can affect the result, but the update does not establish one guaranteed reward for every match.
- Work on challenges, badges and accolades alongside ordinary use. Verified experiences grant those progression categories, so a target weapon or vehicle can advance while you pursue the tasks already attached to your session.
Why two players get different speed results
Mode and match length
A five-minute queue, a long objective match and a short cooperative run produce different XP per clock hour even if the game’s rules are unchanged. Compare complete sessions, not a single unusually quick or slow round.
Performance and objective play
The supplied official documents explain where XP can be earned, not a universal reward for every action. Score, objectives, victories, challenge completion and time played can change the outcome. A player who contributes to objectives may progress differently from a player who spends the same time waiting for engagements.
Completion and quitting
Battlefield 6’s Season 2 changes explicitly increase the importance of completed matches. In Call of Duty, the official mode list confirms XP eligibility but does not publish a universal completed-match amount. In both games, leaving early makes a personal speed test difficult to interpret.
Boosters, parties and seasonal tuning
Boosters or event bonuses, if active in a particular playlist or date range, can change the result. Party composition can alter queue time and win probability. Seasonal updates can also revise rewards, as Battlefield 6’s Season 2 changes demonstrate. Record these conditions when comparing your own sessions.
How to measure your own XP speed fairly
A personal test cannot replace an official benchmark, but it can answer the question for your setup and goal.
- Choose one track. Test account level in both games, or test one Battlefield weapon or vehicle. Do not combine account and hardware progress in the same score.
- Use the same clock rule. Start timing when the first playable activity begins and stop after the post-match rewards appear. Either include or exclude queue and menu time in both games; do not mix methods.
- Run several complete sessions. One match is too noisy. Use multiple sessions in the same mode, with the same party and no intentional quitting.
- Record conditions. Note mode, map or activity type when relevant, match result, challenge completion, active events or boosters, and the patch or season.
- Calculate your own average. Divide the total level or hardware progress shown by the total measured time. Label the result as your personal rate, not a game-wide fact.
- Repeat after major updates. Battlefield 6’s Season 2 reward changes show why an old measurement can become obsolete. Re-test when a season or progression system changes.
Common mistakes when comparing Battlefield 6 and Call of Duty
- Comparing account XP with hardware XP. A Battlefield vehicle level and a Call of Duty account level are different targets.
- Treating the five-mode Call of Duty list as a guaranteed rate. Mode eligibility tells you where Level XP exists, not how much XP every minute produces.
- Assuming every Portal experience is equal. EA’s full-progression statement applies to verified experiences. Verification is a condition, not a promise that every custom activity has the same pacing.
- Ignoring match completion. Battlefield 6’s Season 2 career reward increase specifically favors completed matches.
- Using a single anecdotal timing. A short match, a lucky win or an unusually strong performance cannot establish a universal winner.
- Forgetting the patch date. Reward tuning is not static. Label tests with the season and date.
- Calling Battlefield 6 “slower” without naming the goal. It may feel slower for a player seeking a broad account ladder, yet efficient for a player focused on one weapon or vehicle.
Which game should you choose?
Choose Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 if…
- You want one account level to advance in Multiplayer, Co-Op Campaign, Zombies, Dead Ops Arcade 4 and Warzone.
- You are pursuing a documented Level 1–55 ladder, ten Prestiges and Prestige Master progression to Level 1,000.
- You regularly switch between solo, cooperative and competitive activities.
- You value a large set of challenge-linked account milestones, including more than 680 Calling Cards documented by Activision.
Choose Battlefield 6 if…
- Your priority is a particular weapon or vehicle rather than a universal account number.
- You are willing to finish multiplayer matches to collect the improved Season 2 completion rewards.
- You want to use verified Portal experiences while retaining full progression categories.
- You prefer a progression loop in which active weapon or vehicle use grants passive hardware XP.
Availability and platform context
Battlefield 6 is listed by EA as available digitally and at retail for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. Platform, edition, installed updates and available modes can affect which progression activities you can access. The Call of Duty comparison above refers specifically to the Black Ops 7 progression documentation and should not be generalized to an older release with different mode or Prestige rules.
Verdict
Call of Duty is the safer answer to “Which game levels up faster?” when the question means account rank and freedom to change modes. Black Ops 7 documents a single Level-XP funnel across five activities, then extends it through ten Prestiges and Prestige Master levels up to 1,000. Battlefield 6 is the more targeted answer for weapon and vehicle grinding: use the hardware you want, play a full multiplayer or verified Portal match, and benefit from Season 2’s passive hardware XP and stronger completed-match career rewards.
That is a practical distinction, not a universal speed record. Because neither publisher supplies a controlled XP-per-hour benchmark, the only defensible comparison is goal-specific and patch-specific. Measure the track you actually care about, under the mode and season you actually play.
