EA’s entry-level target is 1080p on Low at approximately 30 fps using an RTX 2060-, RX 5600 XT-, or Arc A380-class GPU. For smoother 1440p gaming, EA recommends substantially faster hardware.
The short answer
Battlefield 6’s minimum requirements are relatively restrained for a 2025 multiplayer blockbuster. A capable older gaming PC can meet them, especially one built around a 2019-era RTX 2060.
However, “meets minimum” means approximately 30 fps at 1080p on Low, not 1080p/60, High settings, or consistently smooth performance in the largest battles. EA describes this tier as the “absolute recommendation” for a basic optimized experience. See EA’s official performance targets.

These are separate performance tiers. The recommended configuration is not an Ultra system: EA’s ordinary recommended target is 1440p/60 on High or 1080p/80-plus on Low. The detailed table is more useful than a raw parts list because it explains what each tier is intended to deliver.

How old are the minimum GPUs?
The RTX 2060 launched in January 2019, so it was nearly seven years old when Battlefield 6 released on October 10, 2025—and more than seven years old by September 2026. The RX 5600 XT launched in 2020, while Intel’s Arc A380 arrived in 2022.
That makes the “six-year-old GPU” angle broadly accurate for the RTX 2060, but not for every minimum option. More importantly, these were gaming GPUs with midrange capabilities, not typical office hardware. Age alone does not determine suitability: a relatively old midrange card can be much faster than a newer entry-level or integrated solution.
What minimum means in real play
A system near the minimum should be evaluated against this expectation:
- 1080p output
- Low graphical settings
- Approximately 30 fps
- Native rendering for EA’s stated target
- 16GB of dual-channel memory
- A DirectX 12-capable system
That is a starting point, not a guaranteed locked frame rate. Large multiplayer maps, explosions, vehicles, and crowded firefights can place more pressure on the CPU than menus or quieter scenes. A minimum-spec PC may launch the game yet still deliver uneven frame pacing or dips in demanding moments.
Do not interpret minimum compatibility as 1080p/60, High settings, competitive high-refresh performance, or a guarantee for a laptop carrying the same GPU name. Mobile GPUs vary considerably with power limits and cooling.

EA’s recommended tier—Core i7-10700 or Ryzen 7 3700X, paired with an RTX 3060 Ti, RX 6700 XT, or Arc B580—targets approximately 1440p/60 on High or 1080p/80-plus on Low.

That is relatively modest beside current flagship hardware, but it is not automatically inexpensive. Regional pricing, used-card availability, power-supply requirements, case clearance, and the cost of a complete platform all matter. It also does not promise maximum settings, ray tracing, or a perfectly constant frame rate in every multiplayer scenario.
The less obvious requirements
RAM, VRAM, and storage
Sixteen gigabytes of RAM is both the stated minimum and the recommended capacity. It should be installed in dual-channel mode, and it leaves limited headroom for browsers, recording tools, launchers, and other background software. A 32GB upgrade may improve overall system comfort, but it does not replace a weak GPU or CPU.

EA’s pages report different storage figures. The detailed launch table lists about 55GB for the base minimum installation and about 90GB for the higher tier, while the FAQ and store listing use simplified 60GB or 90GB figures and may account differently for high-resolution texture content. Leave additional free space rather than planning around the smallest number. An SSD is the sensible choice for load times and general responsiveness.
Secure Boot and TPM 2.0
Battlefield 6 also requires TPM 2.0, UEFI Secure Boot, HVCI capability, and VBS capability. Secure Boot is mandatory because of EA Javelin Anti-Cheat, which EA says is designed to help detect kernel-level cheats, rootkits, memory manipulation, spoofing, and related tampering. - Press Windows key + R.
- Enter
msinfo32and press Enter. - Check Secure Boot State.
- Check BIOS Mode; UEFI is normally required rather than Legacy or CSM mode.
- Run
tpm.mscor check Windows Security to confirm TPM availability.
Do not switch Secure Boot on blindly. If Windows was installed in Legacy/CSM mode, changing firmware settings can prevent the system from booting. Back up important data, make sure disk-encryption recovery information is available, and follow the motherboard manufacturer’s instructions.
Upscaling and Nvidia features
EA lists support for Nvidia DLSS 4, Intel XeSS 2, and AMD FSR 4. The published minimum and recommended targets are specified at native resolution, so upscaling is an optional performance and image-quality choice rather than a requirement for those official targets.
EA has also announced DLSS Super Resolution, DLSS Frame Generation, DLSS Multi Frame Generation, DLAA, and Nvidia Reflex. Feature availability depends on the GPU generation and game settings, and frame generation cannot remove a CPU bottleneck or guarantee the responsiveness expected by competitive players. Can your existing PC run Battlefield 6?
It should reach the basic target if it has:
- A Core i5-8400/Ryzen 5 2600-class CPU
- An RTX 2060, RX 5600 XT, or Arc A380-class GPU
- At least 6GB of VRAM
- 16GB dual-channel RAM
- Windows 10 64-bit or newer
- TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot support
Expect 1080p Low at approximately 30 fps, with real-world multiplayer variation.

That aligns with EA’s approximate 1440p/60 High or 1080p/80-plus Low targets.
Who should not build around the minimum?
Plan for an upgrade or another platform if you use integrated graphics, a GTX 10-series card, a GPU with less than 6GB of VRAM, or a PC with under 16GB of RAM. The same applies to systems that cannot enable TPM 2.0 or Secure Boot, and to players targeting 1440p high-refresh or 4K gaming.

Battlefield 6 has no dedicated Steam Deck support. That does not prove that every unofficial experiment will fail, but it means Steam Deck owners should not treat desktop minimum requirements as an official compatibility promise.

A GPU-only upgrade makes sense when the CPU is already close to the recommended level, the motherboard supports the required security features, the power supply is suitable, and the case and cooling can accommodate the replacement. If the CPU is saturated during large battles, a faster GPU alone may provide little benefit.
Used RTX 2060, RX 5600 XT, RTX 3060 Ti, and RX 6700 XT cards are logical categories to investigate. Check the exact VRAM capacity, card dimensions, power connectors, PSU quality, usage history, return policy, and whether you are buying a desktop or laptop component. Do not choose a card with less than 6GB of VRAM simply because it is cheap, and do not assume a GPU purchase fixes firmware incompatibility.
For a very old PC requiring a CPU, motherboard, RAM, storage, and GPU, a complete replacement may be more rational. A prebuilt should have at least the recommended tier, 16GB dual-channel RAM, an SSD, a modern UEFI motherboard, TPM 2.0, and Secure Boot support. Avoid systems advertising 8GB RAM, 4GB graphics cards, weak proprietary power supplies, or unclear motherboard specifications.
A PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X/S can be a more predictable alternative when a PC cannot meet the anti-cheat requirements or needs several components replaced. EA says Xbox Series S targets up to 1080p/60, while Xbox Series X has a 1440p/60 fidelity target. Consoles offer less graphics customization and have platform-specific online-service costs, but avoid PC configuration problems.
Cloud gaming may help owners of weak local hardware, but availability, latency, supported storefronts, subscription pricing, and anti-cheat compatibility should be verified before relying on it. The available research does not establish a current confirmed cloud provider for Battlefield 6.

Buying the game or testing it first
If your PC already meets the recommended tier, the Battlefield 6 Standard Edition is the straightforward purchase. Steam requires linking an EA account. The indexed Steam listing showed a $69.99 standard price and a $99.99 Phantom Edition price, but regional pricing and offers can change. The Phantom Edition provides extras, not better performance.
EA Play Pro may be useful if you want to test the game on an existing PC or play multiple EA titles. EA’s indexed price signal was $16.99 per month, with Day 1 PC access through the EA app. A subscription is not automatically cheaper for someone who plans to play long term, and it does not solve hardware or firmware limitations.
