What happened in the March 2025 Battlefield Labs leak?
On March 7, 2025, Notebookcheck reported that a participant streamed a Battlefield Labs session on Twitch and that clips then spread on Reddit and Twitter. The test was described as confidential, with participants under a non-disclosure agreement. Notebookcheck later said it removed images from the leaked footage on March 23, 2025. Coverage characterized the footage as an early look at Battlefield 6 in development. It was not an official gameplay reveal or confirmation of finished features.
What did reports say the footage showed?
Urban Conquest and destruction
GameSpot described the footage as Conquest on an urban map called Abbasid, with a user interface reminiscent of Battlefield 2042. One reported moment appeared to show a rocket striking a building and bringing down its upper floors. Notebookcheck also highlighted dense urban combat and apparent improvements to destruction. Classes, infantry, and vehicles
GameSpot reported that the footage showed the return of the Assault, Engineer, Support, and Recon classes. Hitmarker described infantry and vehicle combat on a sandy urban map, alongside modern weapons and destructible environments. Hitmarker also noted audio that appeared to include echoes across the map and radio announcements in a classic Battlefield style, while stressing that the build was incomplete. What official test information said
Details circulated alongside the leak were not all things viewers could identify in the clips. GameSpot summarized official test information saying developers were evaluating gunplay and movement. The reported test notes included:

These were test details reported by GameSpot from official information, not independent measurements or proof that every item was visible in leaked footage. The distinction matters: the clips provided visual impressions, while the test notes described systems being evaluated.
Why the leak does not confirm final Battlefield 6 features
GameSpot reported that the official Battlefield account cautioned that some Labs features were placeholders or works in progress, and that bugs and performance in the test did not represent the final game. The footage itself also showed signs of an unfinished build. A pre-release test can reveal what developers are trying, but it cannot establish which features will be retained, revised, or removed.

That caveat still applies to Battlefield Labs. In an October 2026 update, EA said Battlefield 6 was entering its second year and described continued development work through Labs. The March 2025 leak is best understood as a historical glimpse of an early test: reports described urban Conquest, destructible buildings, classes, and movement systems under development. It is not evidence that those exact elements remain in the released game, nor does it describe a new leak from 2026. EA’s later comments about ongoing Labs work reinforce that test footage and test features should not be treated as a final feature list.
