EA’s “tomorrow” reveal came on February 3, 2025: the company announced Battlefield Labs, an invite-based program for testing work-in-progress Battlefield concepts and mechanics with players. It was not a public demo or a finished-game preview. The original announcement called the project the “next Battlefield experience”; EA revealed the name Battlefield 6 later in 2025.
What was revealed on February 3, 2025?
The day before, the official Battlefield account invited people to “Tune in tomorrow at 5PM CET / 8AM PDT” for details about a community testing program. EA’s announcement the next day identified it as Battlefield Labs. The teaser promised first details; it did not specify what the reveal would include. EA’s announcement described the next Battlefield experience as pre-alpha and framed Labs as a way for players to help teams explore its potential. Insider Gaming reported the teaser on February 2, 2025.
EA’s stated goal was to test concepts and mechanics before public release, learn what to prioritize and improve, and assess what felt like an authentic Battlefield experience. Vince Zampella, then identified by EA as Head of Respawn and Group GM for EA Studios Organization, said: “This game has so much potential. To find that potential, with us being pre-alpha, now is the time to test the experiences our teams have been building for our upcoming launch. Battlefield Labs empowers our teams to do that.”
Was Battlefield Labs a public beta?
No. EA described it as an early, invite-based test of work in progress—not an open demo or a finished build. The company warned that Labs content could have rough edges, bugs, and crashes. Signing up did not guarantee an invitation.

How often were tests scheduled?
EA said Labs would not follow a rigid session cadence. It planned to issue repeated builds every few weeks, with specific test sessions scheduled and communicated directly to participants. This describes the plan in the FAQ, not a confirmed current schedule.
Could participants stream or discuss their experience?
No. Invitees had to sign a non-disclosure agreement and could not discuss or show anything from their Labs experience. EA said participants could send feedback directly and securely to development teams and use a private Discord channel. The company also planned public recaps about what it learned and the actions taken.

When did EA name the game Battlefield 6?
The February 3 Labs announcement referred to the project as the “next Battlefield experience”; it did not call it Battlefield 6. EA announced the Battlefield 6 name later in 2025. That later naming is useful context, but it should not be read back into the wording of the original reveal. EA’s later Battlefield 6 announcement establishes the subsequent title.
