Short answer: The be quiet! Power Zone 2 750W is a sensible premium mid-capacity supply for a gaming PC that fits within 750W, especially if you value a native 12V-2×6 cable, semi-passive cooling and a long warranty. It is an ATX 3.1/EPS 2.92 unit with one 12V rail, 80 PLUS Platinum and Cybenetics Platinum certifications, and a 10-year manufacturer warranty. Independent Cybenetics database results show very low average noise and high efficiency under its specified test conditions. The main cautions are practical: 750W is not automatically enough for every modern GPU combination, the 160 mm chassis needs case clearance, and the €150/$150 launch price was historical rather than a current value guarantee.
What the Power Zone 2 750W is
This is a 750W continuous-output, fully modern ATX power supply aimed at gaming and workstation PCs that need current GPU power delivery without moving to an 850W or larger unit. It uses a single 12V rail rated for the full 750W combined 12V output, supports ATX 3.1 and EPS 12V 2.92, and is described by the manufacturer as PCIe 5.1 compatible.

The 820W figure is a listed peak, not a second continuous rating. Likewise, the manufacturer’s statement that transient excursions can reach up to twice rated power should not be read as permission to draw 1,500W continuously. Your sustained load still has to remain within the 750W specification.
Is 750W enough for your build?
Capacity depends on the complete system, not the graphics card alone. Start with the CPU and GPU power guidance supplied for your exact models, then account for the motherboard, memory, drives, pumps, fans, USB-powered devices and any manual power limits or overclocking. Compare that total with 750W and leave practical headroom for transient demand, aging, temperature and future upgrades.

A straightforward sizing check
- Identify the GPU requirement. Use the GPU maker’s recommended PSU rating and connector instructions for the exact card, not a generic family name. A card that asks for an 850W supply is not a good match simply because its average gaming draw may be lower.
- Check CPU behavior. High-end desktop processors can exceed their nominal package rating under boost or all-core workloads. Include the motherboard’s default power limits and any limits you intend to remove.
- Add the rest of the system. Count storage devices, water-pump hardware, fans, lighting controllers, capture cards and other expansion cards. Their individual figures are modest, but the sum matters when the system is stressed.
- Account for peaks and upgrades. ATX 3.1 is designed around modern transient behavior, but it does not make an undersized supply larger. If you expect a more demanding GPU or CPU later, choose a higher-capacity model now rather than planning to run at the limit.
- Confirm connectors before ordering. Make sure your GPU accepts the supplied 12V-2×6 lead or the available PCIe 6+2 leads, and that the card does not require more plugs than the PSU provides.
For a mainstream gaming system whose manufacturer guidance fits comfortably below 750W, this unit offers useful margin. For a flagship GPU, a heavily tuned CPU, multiple expansion cards or an upgrade plan, a larger supply may be the safer choice. No single wattage label can replace checking the exact component list and regional GPU documentation.
ATX 3.1 support and the native 12V-2×6 cable
The Power Zone 2 750W includes a native 12V-2×6 cable, rather than requiring an adapter assembled from several older PCIe leads. Its connector is angled at 90 degrees. That can make a clean installation easier in some cases, but it also makes orientation important: the plug must face the GPU’s socket and still have enough room for the cable to leave the connector without a sharp bend.
What to verify with your graphics card
- Check whether the card’s socket is positioned for a 90-degree plug in the direction supplied by the PSU.
- Confirm that the plug can be fully inserted and that the cable is not under side-panel pressure.
- Follow the GPU manufacturer’s bend-clearance guidance; do not force the cable against the connector housing.
- If your card uses conventional sockets, the PSU also provides three PCIe 6+2-pin connectors. Check the card’s required count and whether your case routing allows separate leads as recommended by the card maker.
ATX 3.1 compliance is relevant because newer graphics cards can create short power excursions well above their average draw. It is not a guarantee that every graphics card is compatible, nor does it override the card maker’s stated PSU requirement. Treat the standard as one part of the selection decision alongside capacity, connector fit and case layout.

The cooling system is semi-passive. At low load the 140 mm fan can stop, eliminating fan noise while the PC is idle or doing light desktop work. When the supply has been working hard, the fan can continue running for approximately two to five minutes after the load falls. That run-on period is intended to remove heat and avoid repeated rapid starts and stops.

The fan is described in the review evidence as a 140 mm rifle-bearing design. A larger fan can move the required air at a lower rotational speed than a smaller fan, but the result in your room still depends on case airflow, ambient temperature, dust and the load profile.
What independent measurements show
Cybenetics’ database reports average noise of 11.29 dBA in one published test-condition block and 10.54 dBA in another. Those averages cover more than 1,450 load combinations in the database methodology; they are not measurements made for this article and should not be treated as a promise that the PSU will always be inaudible. Hardware Busters identifies the unit’s Cybenetics noise class as A++ (under 15 dB[A]).
In practice, the PSU may be quieter than the case fans and GPU during many gaming sessions, particularly when the semi-passive mode is active. Under sustained high load, the fan will run, and the acoustic balance of the entire PC—not just the power supply—will determine what you hear.

Efficiency and electrical certifications
The unit carries both 80 PLUS Platinum and Cybenetics Platinum certifications. The manufacturer’s “up to 94.2%” figure is a maximum claim under the relevant certification conditions, not an efficiency level maintained at every load and voltage.

Cybenetics lists two average-efficiency results: 90.237% at 115V and 92.261% at 230V, each tied to its own test-condition block. The same blocks list standby consumption of 0.0540W and 0.0939W, respectively. These are accredited database results under Cybenetics’ procedures, not a universal prediction for every outlet, temperature or workload.
Higher efficiency generally means less input power is lost as heat, which can help fan behavior and electricity use. The difference between certification tiers is most meaningful when comparing supplies tested under comparable conditions; efficiency alone does not establish voltage regulation, transient response or long-term reliability.
Physical fit, cables and installation planning
The PSU body measures 160 x 150 x 86 mm before cables are attached. The 160 mm length is longer than the shortest ATX supplies, so check the case’s maximum PSU length with its drive cage, radiator, bottom intake and cable space installed. A case may technically accept a 160 mm unit while leaving too little room to route the stiff 12V-2×6 lead.

Before you install it
- Read the case manual for maximum PSU length and any restrictions caused by drive cages or front radiators.
- Measure the path from the PSU socket to the GPU, including the side-panel clearance required by the angled connector.
- Plan the motherboard and CPU cable routes before tightening the PSU; cable space behind the tray can be the limiting factor.
- Use only the modular cables supplied for this PSU. Do not mix modular leads from another model or brand.
- Inspect every connector for full insertion before powering on, especially the 12V-2×6 plug.
The manufacturer lists motherboard and CPU power connections in its specification set, while the GPU options are explicitly a native 12V-2×6 lead and three PCIe 6+2-pin connectors. Verify the exact regional package and connector count from the seller before purchase if your build has unusual expansion-card requirements.

Warranty and manufacturer positioning
Be quiet! provides a 10-year manufacturer warranty for this model. A long warranty can reduce replacement risk over a planned build life, but the practical value depends on your region’s warranty process, proof-of-purchase requirements and whether shipping is covered. Confirm those terms with the local seller or manufacturer documentation.
Christian Joppien, Head of Global Product Management at be quiet!, describes Power Zone 2 as the company’s first semi-passive power-supply series and first with a 140 mm fan, calling its design distinctive. That is a manufacturer positioning statement, not an independent finding about failure rates or acoustic performance.

Hardware Busters’ review, dated April 12, 2025, listed a launch price of €150 / $150. That figure is useful historical context only; it is not a current price, and retail pricing and availability vary by country, taxes, promotions and regional model.

The sensible way to judge the Power Zone 2 today is to compare the current local price against other ATX 3.1 supplies with the same capacity, native 12V-2×6 support, efficiency class, physical length, measured noise evidence and warranty. Do not pay a premium for the 10-year warranty or Platinum badge if the exact alternative offers equivalent protections and fits your case better; conversely, a modest premium may be reasonable if the semi-passive behavior, angled connector and documented acoustic results solve a real constraint in your build.

What independent evidence does—and does not—establish
The available independent material supports a quiet, efficient profile under defined laboratory conditions. Cybenetics’ average figures are valuable because they aggregate many load points, but they remain condition-specific. Hardware Busters’ review supplies launch-price context, identifies the OEM as FSP, and describes the product as a quiet mid-capacity ATX 3.1 model.
There is no in-house measurement or personal ownership test behind this article, and no product-specific buyer survey, failure-rate dataset or market-share statistic establishes long-term reliability. The 10-year warranty is a manufacturer policy, not proof that every unit will last ten years. Use the measured noise and efficiency numbers as evidence for comparison, not as guarantees for your room or system.
Strengths and trade-offs
Reasons to consider it
- 750W continuous output with the full rating available on a single 12V rail.
- ATX 3.1 and EPS 12V 2.92 support for current platforms.
- Native 12V-2×6 cable with a 90-degree connector, plus three PCIe 6+2-pin connectors.
- Semi-passive 140 mm cooling, with a two-to-five-minute post-load run-on behavior.
- 80 PLUS Platinum and Cybenetics Platinum certifications.
- Very low Cybenetics average-noise figures under its test conditions.
- 10-year manufacturer warranty.
Reasons to choose something else
- Your GPU or planned upgrade calls for more than 750W, regardless of the PSU’s transient capability.
- Your case has limited room for a 160 mm PSU or cannot accommodate the angled 12V-2×6 cable.
- You need more than three PCIe 6+2-pin connectors.
- The current local price is materially higher than equally specified ATX 3.1 alternatives.
- You require independently verified results for a particular temperature, voltage or acoustic environment that the published Cybenetics conditions do not represent.
Who should buy the Power Zone 2 750W?
It is a good fit for a gaming PC whose exact component guidance stays within 750W and that has room for a 160 mm ATX supply. It makes the most sense when you want a native modern GPU cable, low-load fan stop and a long warranty, and when the current price is competitive in your market.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
Skip it for a build already near the 750W ceiling, a system with a future flagship-GPU upgrade, or a compact case that leaves no safe cable-bend space. In those situations, capacity or physical fit is a more important buying criterion than the Platinum label.
Installation checklist
- Confirm the exact regional model, current price and warranty terms.
- Check your GPU’s recommended PSU rating and connector requirement.
- Verify that 750W continuous output leaves headroom for CPU, GPU, storage, fans and accessories.
- Measure the 160 mm PSU bay and the side-panel clearance for the 90-degree 12V-2×6 plug.
- Install the PSU with its own supplied modular cables only.
- Seat the 12V-2×6 connector fully and route it without forcing a tight bend at the socket.
- After first boot, monitor temperatures and fan behavior during a sustained workload; the PSU fan may remain on for two to five minutes after the workload ends.
Verdict
The be quiet! Power Zone 2 750W is a well-specified ATX 3.1 option rather than a universal answer to every gaming build. Its strongest case is a carefully sized 750W system that benefits from a native 12V-2×6 cable, semi-passive cooling, Platinum efficiency credentials and a 10-year warranty. Cybenetics’ 90.237%/92.261% average-efficiency results and 11.29/10.54 dBA average-noise results are encouraging, but they belong to defined test conditions. Buy it when the current local price, case clearance and GPU requirements all line up; choose a higher-capacity or differently sized unit when they do not.
