Belurat, Tower Settlement is in the northwest of Gravesite Plain. From Three-Path Cross, follow the western hill approach to reach its main gate. The route below covers the main path, useful optional rewards, the Divine Beast Dancing Lion, and the post-boss return to Hornsent Grandam—an interaction that is easy to miss if you leave after the fight.
Reach Belurat, Tower Settlement
- At Three-Path Cross in Gravesite Plain, take the western hill approach toward Belurat. Speak with nearby NPCs and consider collecting the Scadutree Fragment along the approach.
- At the Main Gate Cross, check for another NPC encounter and Scadutree Fragment before continuing.
- Climb the main stairs and enter the settlement. Deal with or evade the spider-like enemies, then activate the first Site of Grace near the large metal doors.
Follow the main route through Belurat
From the entrance to Small Private Altar
From the entrance area, go right to continue; the nearby room is an optional dead end for now. Cross the plaza around the water feature, checking the waterfall area for loot and an ambush enemy. Climb the stairs to the thoroughfare. A well on the right contains Messmerfire Grease, and a side area farther along has another guarded pickup.
At the end of the thoroughfare, enter the left arch and activate Small Private Altar. In the connected room, the left arch leads to a return route and locked door; take the right arch to stay on the main route. A Horned Warrior guards the way.
Optional branch: tree courtyard and Queelign
At the fork, the right branch leads to a tree courtyard and a Fire Knight Queelign invasion. The route guides report the Crusade Insignia here; Push Square also lists Ash of War: Shriek of Sorrow at the tree. Return to the fork when you are ready to continue the main route.

Get the Storeroom Key and explore above the waterfall
Continue past the waterfall basin and climb the ladder. Loot the body at the top for the Storeroom Key. Keep it: after the boss, it opens the room needed for the Hornsent Grandam interaction.
From the upper area, you can take a left path through insect enemies or a right route across rooftops with birds. The left exploration route is the more rewarding option identified by the guides: it includes a Scadutree Fragment and Dried Bouquet Talisman, as well as a shortcut back to the earlier grace. The guides describe this insect route as less punishing than the rooftop route, but enemy difficulty can vary with your build and progress.
Left-path pickups and the boss approach
The left route leads through a room with two large scorpions, where you can find the Bone Bow, and onward past ambush enemies. Continue past the spiral stairs and Curseblade to reach the boss fog. Redmane Freyja’s summon sign may be available depending on your quest state.
Defeat the Divine Beast Dancing Lion
The Divine Beast Dancing Lion is the principal boss at the end of Belurat. Its feints, spins, and lunges can make it risky to attack before a sequence finishes. Watch the movement, dodge the attack rather than reacting to the feint, then use the recovery window to land a few hits. Staying near its flank can help make some attacks easier to read, but reposition when its movement or area attacks make that unsafe.
As the fight shifts to elemental attacks, the Lion uses frost and lightning effects. After an elemental burst, look for a safe chance to close distance rather than spending too long attacking from range. Lightning-Proof Pickled Livers are an optional way to improve lightning defense. Bleed or poise-focused damage are also suggested approaches, not requirements; choose tactics that fit your weapon and timing.
After the fight, collect the Divine Beast Head. Do not leave Belurat without it if you want to complete the NPC interaction below.

- Return to Small Private Altar.
- Take the left arch you passed earlier and clear the spellcasters.
- Use the Storeroom Key on the locked door.
- Equip the Divine Beast Head and speak with Hornsent Grandam inside.
This interaction grants the Watchful Spirit spell and includes a request involving her son. It is a separate return trip after the boss, rather than part of the route to the boss fog.
About the DLC
Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree is an expansion and requires the base game. Bandai Namco lists PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Steam as platforms. The official product information describes the Realm of Shadow as a place where fields and dungeons seamlessly intervene; that broader description is context for the expansion, not a map of Belurat.
